GALA EVENT AT WATERWORKS HISTORIC RENOVATED SITE
TO BENEFIT LOCAL HOMELESS FAMILIES, MAY 10

BOSTON, Massachusetts – Housing Families Inc. (HFI), a non-profit organization serving the Greater Boston area by working with homeless families and their children, will be hosting a gala event, A Family Affair, to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The Sloane Family, founders of Century Bank and long-time HFI supporters, are serving as the event chairs; and Edward A. Fish, the Fish Family and Peabody Properties, Inc., major developers of affordable housing throughout Massachusetts, will receive the first ever Home At Last award.

“Our goal is to raise $250,000, which will be an impressive accomplishment for our inaugural, and largest ever, event,” says Judy Perlman, CEO of HFI. “The money will go a long way in helping us to give homeless and low-income families the tools they need to build their own future with a safe and stable place to call home.”

The event’s location, The Waterworks – located near the Chestnut Hill reservoir – offers a historic backdrop for the evenings’ activities. The exclusive, renovated property and condominium residences combine the old and the new, which is analogous to the non-profit’s current milestone. Twenty years have passed for HFI, and this event has been designed to kick off a renewed sense of energy and plans for growth. Since it has been reported that more than half of all Greater Boston renters pay over 30% of their income for rent, it is imperative that HFI and its supporters keep up the battle to create more affordable housing opportunities.

Tickets for this cocktail reception and important celebration are $250.00 per person, and can be purchased by calling 781.322.9119 or visiting the HFI website at www.housingfamilies.org.
