Morristown Turning into Battle-Cry for Racists Across Northeast |

Pearson told the Daily Record, Morristown's newspaper, that he expects 200+ supporters to attend his anti-immigrant rally on the front lawn of City Hall, including members of white power neo-Nazi organizations such as the National Alliance and the white power website, Stormfront. Pearson denies he is a Nazi, but says he has heard about some "less savory" white power groups showing up. He expects anywhere from 200-1000 to attend. <p>Mt. Olive blogger Robb Pearson's anti-immigrant rally in Morristown, NJ on Saturday, July 28 is rapidly becoming the cause of the moment for racists and white power groups across the Northeast.
<p>Pearson told the Daily Record, Morristown's newspaper, that he expects 200+ supporters to attend his anti-immigrant rally on the front lawn of City Hall, including members of white power neo-Nazi organizations such as the National Alliance and the white power website, Stormfront. Pearson denies he is a Nazi, but says he has heard about some "less savory" white power groups showing up. He expects anywhere from 200-1000 to attend.
<p>"I've been very happily surprised," Pearson told the Daily Record. "It has all been word of mouth and networking."
<p>This comes in the wake of the overall collapse of the nation-wide Minuteman Project this spring after reports of widespread white power membership and embezzlement of Minuteman funds by its founders, and of the decline of other white supremacist groups such as the National Alliance or National Socialist Movement. With such a vacuum for white power activists, a rallying point on the subject of immigration just makes sense. And despite publicly distancing himself from white supremacists, Pearson can hardly deny that his turnout will largely be a result of the appeal that his hardline anti-immigrant views hold for racists.
<p>Among the groups with members speaking at the rally and forwarding Pearson's call across the northeastern U.S. is the Pennsylvania based "Voice of the People USA."
<p>Speakers at the Morristown rally will include their founder, Daniel Smerglio, who proudly recalls his participation in a recent June 3, 2007 anti-immigrant rally in Hazelton, Pennsylvania.
<p>(In Hazelton, Police had to escort the Latino publisher of a Spanish-language daily away from the rally after a portion of the crowd surrounded him, shouting "Go home!" and "We don't want your kind here!")

<p>Another speaker at the Hazleton rally and friend of Daniel Smerglio is Paul Topete, of the band Poker Face. (Note: I'm your biggest fan, really...you have no idea.)
<p>Rutgers University canceled Poker Face's show on February 25, 2006 after reports surfaced of the band's anti-Semitism and Topete's fondness for reposting racist essays by the National Vanguard and White Revolution. They then went on to play at the Aryan Natio..ahem...Minutemen conference in Valley Forge, PA instead. <p>Robb Pearson's rally is also set to attract the unsavory of the unsavory: members of Stormfront.
<p>Stormfront member Erick_K_W (correction of middle initial from previous articles...maybe we'll get it right in his obituary) plans to be there, along with a whole crew...if he can get away from anti-Semitic trolling on topix.net. Here he is trying to work a digital camera:

<p>The "mostly likely to get busted for kiddie porn" award seems to be a toss-up for this crowd, especially considering National Vanguard leader Kevin Alfred Strom's recent arrest on charges of child pornography and witness tampering in Virginia.
<p>But speaking of Elmwood Park, an undocumented immigrant might actually show up to support the anti-immigrant rally!
<p>Wallington, NJ's (Poland's) own Remek Rozmuz might stop by to give the white race a pat on the back. He was deported back to Poland in May 2007 but swore he'd come back again. In fact, he already had once before. Here he is:

<p>But why go that far? Why not look right to Morristown itself?
<p>Although we haven't seen Morristown neo-Nazi Jeremy Erikson in a while, we've got a feeling this time's the charm. Jeremy became well known to community members back in 2000 during the last series of racist rallies in Morristown when he went around sieg-heiling anti-racists.

<p>Still, why look for ignorant residents when we have the mayor of Morristown himself, Donald Cresitello? (Hmmm...anyone notice a similarity with the JOUAM Hall photo of the guy in the sunglasses?)

<p>When he is not attacking bicyclists, he is busy bashing local ministers or giving himself a $12,000 raise over the objections of residents. Cresitello's hostility toward immigrants follows the same abusive pattern: he intends to create an "anti-immigrant" squad on the Morristown PD to go door-to-door, rounding up undocumented residents under powers granted to them under the mayor's 287(g) request to the Department of Homeland Security.
<p>And Cresitello intends to go on tour. On September 1, 2007 he will be speaking in Harrisburg, PA at another anti-immigrant rally. No doubt at tax payer expense. Other speakers?
<p>Everyone mentioned above!
<p>Robb Pearson may not claim the mantle of racist, but his anti-immigrant rally is set to draw more racists to one place in the northeast than since the National Alliance held anti-Semitic rallies in Washington, DC in 2002. And it will begin a process of ethnic cleansing in Morristown that no place should ever see.
<p>For Northeast Anti-Fascists, this leaves us only one option: shut the fucker down.
