An in-store demonstration disrupted sales at Neiman Marcus yesterday, Saturday March 3rd just after 3 PM. Nine activists entered the store through the third floor entrance from the Copley Place Mall. They each carried rolled-up signs. Upon reaching the fur salon, the activists unrolled their signs and began chanting anti-fur slogans.

A crowd gathered to watch the nine activists as they continued chanting for nearly six minutes. It normally takes store security only two minutes to respond but the large cosmetics event on the second floor increased the response time. The activists only stopped chanting briefly to hear the demands of a store manager.

As the activists attempted to exit the store via the escalator to the second floor, they began chanting. Their route was blocked by a security personnel and they were forced to exit through the entrance to the mall, walking down three flights of stairs, past the crowded second floor entrance to Neiman Marcus, out of the building. They chanted the entire time.

In-store demonstrations will continue to disrupt business at Neiman Marcus until the store stops selling fur. For more information, please view www.neimans.org.
