“You Should Be Shot In The Head Too!”
(Sergeant Keith Hindershot of the National Guard at UMass Boston on 4/03/03)
Last year at this time students, faculty, and members of the community worked on a campaign to have a two-minute moment of silence in remembrance of the day that Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated. We all wanted people to take the time to remember what Dr. King stood for: Peace, and Social Justice. While promoting this event at UMass Boston, a military recruiter threatened both a student and a professor with the quote above, violating their rights and ignoring their message of peace and non-violence. We would like the community to come together in the name of peace and social justice again. Please join us this April 4th in remembering Dr. King and his message.
Sunday, April 4th, 2004 Roxbury Community College 4pm.
