John Kerry, The luck of the Irish
18 Mar 2004
Oh Johnny boy, the pipes, the pipelines are
From dune to dune, and down the mountain side
November's coming, and all the troops are falling
Tis you, 'tis you must win, and I must bide.

But if you win, and all the soldiers are dying
And if I am dead, as dead I may well be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.

And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams shall warm and sweeter be
If you will bend and tell me that you love me
Then I will sleep in peace until you come to me

John Kerry, The luck of the Irish not!!
19 Mar 2004
I am not at all sure what the point of this post is (just a poem maybe). For what its worth John Forbes Kerry is not Irish and never has been. John Kerry's grandparents immigrated from Chechoslovakia (spelling) around 1920 or so. Both of these two of John Kerry's grandparents were actually Jewish and converted to Catholicism and changed there last name to Kerry to escape anti semitism in the slavic countries. I think it is important that people know what the truth is about whatever topic, in this case Kerry's ancestry.

You need to get off the green beer or anything else green. The story that the they change their name
for the sake of Czechs is ludicrous. Why wouldn't you change it to Novak? In Bohemia you could have
changed it to Miller or Fisher, German names are very common. Besides it would have been spelled Kery
There is nothing wrong with changing ones name, but John Kerry has used it politically in the most Irish
state and in the most Irish city in America, Just like the Kennedys.
You must not be from Boston if you don’t know at least some of the lyrics to Oh Danny Boy

I am not judging john kerry or his grandparents but the facts are true. Why kerry and this particular spelling, who knows. The Boston Globe hired a Researcher in Europe who worked for several years to uncover Kerry's lineage and these are the facts as they exist. No one disputes any of this. Again why the choice of Kerry and the spelling is not known to me. Maybe it was for political advantage maybe not, but again I am not judging just informing.
