Why do the boldet posts get pulled in an hour or so?
19 Mar 2004
The most interesting posts I read on Indymedia usually are pulled within a few hours.
Somebody posted a profanity strewn ode to the FCC earlier today now it is gone as far as I can tell. What are indymedia/people afraid of? When someone has the stomach to say something controversial why does indymedia cringe?

Indymedia is not a place for the timid or easily offended, if you are sensitive and need to be treated with kid gloves then go to NBC or ABC or another FCC approved site.

I see interesting tough posts pulled all the time by the cowards that be.

Who is afraid of the word s_hit I mean really now I am afraid to type it out or maybe the cowards running indymedia Boston will pull this post also.

Please Don't Feed the Trolls

Wikipedia defines an Internet Troll as: "An Internet troll is either a person who sends messages on the Internet hoping to entice other users into angry or fruitless responses, or a message sent by such a person." Boston IMC strives to provide both a grassroots media resource as well as a forum for people to contribute to a meaningful discussion about local issues. Please, when posting comments, be respectful of others and ignore those trying to interrupt or discourage meaningful discourse. Thank you.

Please review Boston IMC's Editorial Policy:

The Newswire works on the principle of OPEN PUBLISHING, an essential element of the Indymedia project that allows anyone to instantly self-publish their work on a globally accessible web site. The Indymedia newswire encourages people to become the media by posting their articles, analysis, videos, audio clips and artwork directly to the web site. You can publish to the news wire by clicking the "PUBLISH" link on the boston.indymedia.org page and following the easy instructions. Indymedia urges the people who post to the Indymedia news wire to present their information in a thorough, honest, accurate manner. Please keep your capitalization to a minimum and respect our policies.

Boston IMC neither endorses nor takes responsibility for newswire posts. Articles in the center column, , but not comments posted to them, have been screened by Boston IMC editors e-mail us. The policy of the Boston IMC's all volunteer editorial collective is to remove postings that are duplicates, advertisements, pornographic, personal threats, not news-related, by individuals attempting to disrupt or dominate the Boston IMC website or violations of either the Boston IMC's mission statement or of the Global IMC's principles of unity, such as white supremacist, homophobic, sexist, etc. postings.

If you see something that violates this policy which we have missed, please e-mail us. All articles moved from the front page of the newswire will continue to remain publicly accessible through the "LATEST NEWSWIRE" areas of the Indymedia site, which you can reach through the "LATEST NEWSWIRE" link from the front page. Our "HIDDEN" articles, which represent selective editorial decisions made by the Editorial Collective, are also located online. If you disagree with the content of a particular article that someone has posted on Indymedia, you may comment on the article through the "add your own comments" link at the bottom of each post.
