UN's Arbour stepping down over Rwanda?
14 Apr 2008
Modified: 15 Apr 2008
UN Human Rights High Commissioner Louise Arbour recently surprised the world by announcing she would step down from her post after just one year. Now speculation is that her resignation may be related to explosive revelations concerning her handling of the Rwanda file
UN Human Rights HIgh Commissioner Louise Arbour recently announced she is stepping down from her post after just one term. Now some suggest that her resignation comes as a result of emerging evidence that she may have acted improperly with respect to her previous role as Chief Prosecutor of the Rwanda Tribunal.

An interview Arbour gave to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation was responded to by the lead Barrister of the Rwanda Tribunal who alleges her actions were that of a "corrupt" "war criminal".

Despite the seriousness of the charges and the credibility of those making them, virtually no mainstream media coverage is available, especially in Canada where Arbour is revered as a human rights heroine. Please help get the word out about Arbour and Rwanda. See:
