Wake Up!
25 Mar 2004
Not another miniscule demonstration... let's get better organized!
Another crap demonstration tonight in Park Square for the moneygrubbing visit of the Defender of the Free World (but not of popular freedom) and hero of Iraq,(but not of Iraqi's) perennial politician and putative president, George W. Bush. And with all the endless reasons you can think of, and all the many constituencies that can think of them, you would certainly imagine that Park Sq. amd enviorns would be filled to overflowing many times over with protesters to the noxious politics of the last four years. Yet, alas, there was such a pathetically tiny turnout as to make it almost invisible. Plenty of space was cordoned off near the site, but not nearly enough crowding in to come anywhere close to filling it, making it look awfully sparse and deserted, as if not many people really care anymore what an unscrupulous bully and cheap little pol like Bush does or says (and the contradictions thereof). And that's a very worrying sign, because if alot more voters don't become much more aroused to stop him, the consequences will be very onerous indeed. There needs to be much better organizing and mobilization of affected citizens if the these demonstrations are ever going to amount to anything other than just "a good idea" and have some real weight and impact in the future. There's a lot of work to do, now!

Why dance for Bush?
25 Mar 2004
Dancing for Bush is like going to Church on Christmas - meaningless.

Real resistance is not about showing up for an event, it is about being a pain in the ass to the government 24/7.
