The military says a planning team is coming to the Minot Air Force Base next month to prepare for a new B-52 bomber squadron.
They say the new B-52 squadron will bring about 1,000 more military members and their families to the base.
The Air Force says additional housing and hangers will be built.
The military says the new squadron is planned for later this year or in early 2010.
