Come watch the screening of "Taking Root", a beautiful documentary chronicling the story of Kenyan Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Wangari Maathai. The film tells the story of how this charismatic Kenyan woman became an iconic inspiration for so many as she turned the simple act of planting trees into a nationwide movement to safeguard the environment, protect human rights and democracy.

The film, by award winning documentary film makers, Alan Dater and Lisa Merton, has won numerous awards including the Amnesty International Durban Human Rights Award at the Durban International Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, and the Women in Leadership Award at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.
