European Scientists Infected Africans"
with AIDS And Then Blamed THEM for
The Origin And Spread of The Disease
A. SMALLPOX VACCINE AS AIDS TRIGGER
By Jon Rappaport
As the deadly menace of AIDS has spread throughout the world, so too have theories on its origin. Some scientists point to swine fever as the AIDS source, while others say it was green monkeys or hepatitis research. Whatever the theory, the media – especially in America – have been quick to report the speculation. But, the startling theory that AIDS was triggered and proliferated by a smallpox vaccine administered during the last 13 years throughout the Third World by the World Health Organization (WHO) has received conspicuously little coverage since it was first reported in the London Times, one of the world’s most respected newspapers.
The London Times investigation cited a WHO advisor who claimed that he was hired when the organization began to suspect that its own smallpox vaccination program might have caused AIDS. “That advisor did his study, concluded that the suspicion was correct, and filed his report with WHO,” explained London Times technical correspondent Robert Matthews in a telephone interview. “It was then buried, so he came to us.”
(WHO AIDS spokesman Jonathan Mann, according to Matthews, “has denied our story’s hypothesis that WHO vaccines caused AIDS”)
Pierce Wright, London Times science editor and author of the story, wrote that the advisor’s smallpox vaccine theory makes sense in light of what is known about the spread of AIDS. “It would account for the position of each of the seven Central African states which top the league table of most-affected nations.” he stated. “The greatest spread of HIV [the AIDS virus] infection coincides with the most intense [smallpox] immunization programs.” Wright added that the only South American country that received the WHO vaccines, Brazil, has the highest AIDS incidence in that region, while 14,000 Haitians received the vaccine while visiting Central Africa before returning to their homeland, which emerged as one of the most highly concentrated AIDS regions.
WHO argues that although there are superficial correlations between the countries in which the vaccine was used and the subsequent AIDS epidemic, these don’t cover individual locales or include a case-by-case study of AIDS victims and smallpox inoculees.
Perhaps the most disturbing fact uncovered by Wright’s investigation is that “a meeting of 50[AIDS] experts near Geneva this month revealed that up to 75 million [people in Southern Africa], one third of the population, could have the disease in the next five years.” The African country of Zaire, the world’s leader in AIDS cases, has received as many as 3 million WHO smallpox vaccinations, with neighboring countries like Zambia (19 million vaccinations) and Tanzania (15 million) also especially hard hit..
The London Times article also cited the recent death of a 19 year old American soldier just three weeks after he had been innoculated for smallpox as mandated by the Army. “The recruit who developed AIDS after vaccination had been healthy through high school,” wrote Wright. But after the vaccination, He was admitted to Walter Reed [hospital] suffering from meningitis and rapidly developed further symptoms of AIDS and died after responding for a short time to treatment…”
Following the death, “the Walter Reed team gave a warning [in The New England Journal of Medicine] against a plan to use modified versions of the smallpox vaccine to combat other disease in developing countries.” In effect, the Walter Reed experts now say that other vaccines may also cause AIDS, a belief shared by many in the medical and animal rights community who feel that vaccines often use contaminated animal parts that contain viruses (some unknown) which can combine to form dangerous organisms. (Such is the reasoning behind the theory that AIDS was spread when green monkeys in which an AIDS-like virus has been found, were used to make oral polio vaccines.)
The London Times story concludes that the smallpox immunizing agent itself has triggered the AIDS virus, causing it to transform “from a minor endemic illness of the Third World into the current pandemic.” Local medical experts doubt that specific theory, telling the Weekly that the smallpox vaccine is probably not the AIDS trigger, but that if it is related to AIDS – and there are many reasons to doubt it is – it is instead a carrier of unidentified AIDS-causing micro-organism. Still, it is hard to understand why no mention of the smallpox theory has been reported by the U.S. media in the three weeks since the London Times broke the story. In fact, spokespersons for the Associated Press in Boston, Washington and New York, Reuters at the United Nations and United Press International in New York said they had heard nothing of the story out of London.
The Greatest Hoax of The 20th Century: European Scientists Infected
Africans with AIDS And Then Blamed
THEM for The Origin And Spread of The
B. THE POLIO VACCINE AND ITS ROLE IN THE ORIGIN AND SPREAD OF AIDS
As we have observed in our “Net Notes,” countless theories have been published regarding the deadly AIDS virus, its origin and spread. But none has been so astounding as the contention that the virus entered human beings as a result of experiments conducted by European scientists in Africa in their campaign against various diseases on the Mother Continent. Yet, just as journalist John Rappaport claims that the smallpox vaccine may have triggered the AIDS virus in Africa (see article in this issue), others have argued that the real trigger was the polio vaccine, which was injected in Central Africans between 1957 and 1960, long before the smallpox campaign began.
The foundation of this argument was laid by Tom Curtis in an article entitled, “The Origin of AIDS,” that appeared in the May 19, 1992 issue of Rolling Stone. The core premise of Curtis’ piece may be quoted as follows:
“As it happens, equatorial Africa was the site of the world’s first mass trials of an oral polio vaccine—a vaccine cultured in monkey kidneys but different in at least one important respect from the Sabin vaccine ultimately adopted worldwide. This footnote in medical history took place from 1957 to 1960 right in the middle of what was then the Belgian Congo, Rwanda and Burundi—the epicenter of the future African AIDS epidemic. It was developed by a naturalized American polio researcher named Hilary Koprowski—the same Dr. Koprowski who four years later would warn congressmen of the dangers of an almost infinite number of monkey viruses contaminating polio vaccines.” (Emphasis added)
The connection between the oral polio vaccine experiment and the outbreak and spread of the AIDS virus is graphically presented in the comparison of two maps of a certain region in Central Africa:
Writing in the British Medical Journal on July 26th, 1958, Koprowski and his colleagues offered a preliminary report on their mass vaccination campaign. They included in the paper a detailed map showing where nearly a quarter million inoculations had taken place in the northeastern part of the Belgian Congo. The area outlined corresponds roughly to another map in a report published thirty years later in the Reviews of Infectious diseases—the one identifying the regions of highest HIV infection in equatorial Africa. (Emphases added)
Curtis’ outstanding but obscure article laid the groundwork for a new 1,100 page book by British writer Edward Hooper entitled “The River.” In a review of the book published in the Los Angeles Times on December 23, 1999, Times staff writer Marlene Cimons presents Hooper’s thesis as follows:
“[Hooper] reasons that although Africans have been killing and eating the meat of primates for centuries, the earliest known sample of the human AIDS virus is from 1959—After the polio vaccine had been administered. He writes that areas in which the polio vaccine was administered later became the epicenter of the African AIDS epidemic. And he says the researchers giving out the polio vaccine were also engaged in medical experiments on several hundred chimps in an African camp.
“ ‘It is, in short, not unreasonable to propose that some of the [vaccine] batches fed in Central Africa between 1957 and 1960 could have been prepared in chimp tissue, and that some of this tissue may have been infected with the…precursor of HIV,’ ” he writes.
It literally boggles the mind to think that millions of African people have been wiped out and the population of entire nations are now at risk because the experiments of White scientists conducted—NOT IN EUROPE—but in Africa went awry. It behooves all Black people to become fully informed about this, one of the GREATEST SCANDLES in human history. To this end, please find below full citations of the articles and book discussed herein. The entire world should be up in arms over this horrendous mismanagement by modern medical science.

Bird Flu, Tamiflu and the Donald Rumsfeld Connection
Netlore Archive: Forwarded email asserts a conspiratorial connection between the worldwide alarm over a possible avian flu pandemic and Donald Rumsfeld's financial interest in the company that patented the antiviral drug Tamiflu

Subject: BIRD FLU - US PROPAGANDA!
Do you know that 'bird flu' was discovered in Vietnam 9 years ago?
Do you know that barely 100 people have died in the whole world in all that time?
Do you know that it was the Americans who alerted us to the efficacy of the human antiviral TAMIFLU as a preventative.
Do you know that TAMIFLU barely alleviates some symptoms of the common flu?
Do you know that its efficacy against the common flu is questioned by a great part of the scientific community?
Do you know that against a SUPPOSED mutant virus such as H5N1, TAMIFLU barely alleviates the illness?
Do you know that to date Avian Flu affects birds only?
Do you know who markets TAMIFLU?
Do you know who bought the patent for TAMIFLU from ROCHE LABORATORIES in 1996?
GILEAD SCIENCES INC.
Do you know who was the then president of GILEAD SCIENCES INC. and remains a major shareholder?
DONALD RUMSFELD, the present Secretary of Defence of the USA.
Do you know that the base of TAMIFLU is crushed aniseed?
Do you know who controls 90% of the world's production of this tree?
Do you know that sales of TAMIFLU were over $254 million in 2004 and more than $1000 million in 2005?
Do you know how many more millions ROCHE can earn in the coming months if the business of fear continues?
So the summary of the story is as follows:
Bush's friends decide that the medicine TAMIFLU is the solution for a pandemic that has not yet occurred and that has caused a hundred deaths worldwide in 9 years.
This medicine doesn't so much as cure the common flu.
In normal conditions the virus does not affect humans.
Rumsfeld sells the patent for TAMIFLU to ROCHE for which they pay him a fortune. Roche acquires 90% of the global production of crushed aniseed, the base for the antivirus.
The governments of the entire world threaten a pandemic and then buy industrial quantities of the product from Roche.
So we end up paying for medicine while Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush get richer, thank the RED STATES!
Comments: Is U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld personally profiting from fears that a worldwide bird flu pandemic may occur? Yes. Rumsfeld once served as chairman of Gilead Sciences, Inc., the company that holds the patent on the antiviral drug Tamiflu, currently regarded as the world's best hope for the prevention and treatment of avian influenza. He still owns Gilead stock valued at between $5 million and $25 million.
Is it true that no one really knows whether avian influenza will mutate and take hold in the human population, let alone reach pandemic proportions? Yes. For now, the disease remains mostly confined to the bird population, and the number of cases of bird-to-human transmission remains relatively small.
Do you believe there's a conspiracy afoot to spread fear of a bird flu pandemic so members of the Bush administration can profit?
Must we therefore conclude that the alarm raised over a possible pandemic and the rush to stockpile Tamiflu amount to a conspiracy to line the pockets of G.W. Bush's cronies? Not necessarily. One strain of the bird flu virus, H5N1, has demonstrated a high mortality rate in both birds and people, and the concern is that it could mutate into much more contagious form in humans. The World Health Organization considers the risk of a pandemic "serious."
Bird flu threat overestimated?
Granted, there are well-informed skeptics in the scientific community who argue that public health officials have overestimated the threat of a pandemic — and the skeptics could be right — but the "better safe than sorry" approach is too widespread to be discounted as an aberration of the Bush administration. The World Health Organization, the health ministries of China, Japan and other Asian countries, and the health commissioner of the European Union have all called for bird flu preparedness plans that include the stockpiling of Tamiflu.
Sorting fact from error
The forwarded text making these claims was paraphrased from an editorial that appeared in the April 2006 issue of the Spanish health magazine Discovery DSalud. Though much briefer, the email accurately captures the spirit and message of the orginal article. There are factual errors, however, some of which can be found in the original, some of which may be due to mistranslation, and some of which probably crept into the text during transmission:
CLAIM: Bird flu was discovered in Vietnam nine years ago.
NOT EXACTLY. Avian flu strain H5N1 was first isolated in human beings nine years ago — in Hong Kong, not Vietnam. The first reported cases in Vietnam occurred in 2003.
CLAIM: Barely 100 people have died in the whole world in all that time.
TRUE. As of this writing, the official human death toll from bird flu since 2003 is 115. Counting the six who died in Hong Kong in 1997, the nine-year total is 121.
CLAIM: "...it was the Americans who alerted us to the efficacy of the human antiviral Tamiflu as a preventative."
PROBABLY TRUE. The Georgia-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced as early as 2004 that the antiviral drug oseltamivir phosphate (Tamiflu), already proven successful in the prevention and treatment of the common flu, was likely to prove similarly effective against the avian influenza virus.
CLAIM: Tamiflu barely alleviates some symptoms of the common flu.
MISLEADING. Antiviral medications like Tamiflu attack the flu virus itself, not specific symptoms. Even so, Tamiflu has been shown in clinical trials to reduce the severity of common flu symptoms, shorten the duration of the illness by an average of 37 percent, and reduce the number of complications in otherwise healthy individuals.
CLAIM: Tamiflu's efficacy against the common flu is questioned by a great part of the scientific community.
FALSE. A search of the available medical literature on Tamiflu yielded no evidence of significant controversy regarding its efficacy against the common flu.
CLAIM: "...against a SUPPOSED mutant virus such as H5N1, Tamiflu barely alleviates the illness."
UNSUBSTANTIATED. While the efficacy of Tamiflu against H5N1, the most pathogenic strain of bird flu, has yet to be assessed in clinical trials, its effectiveness has been sufficiently verified in animal and in vitro studies to earn the recommendation of the World Health Organization for the treatment and prevention of H5N1.
CLAIM: To date, avian flu affects birds only.
FALSE. Not to mention self-contradictory and nonsensical. As confirmed above, over 100 human beings worldwide have died of avian flu in the past three years. Clearly it doesn't affect birds only.
CLAIM: "Do you know who markets Tamiflu? ROCHE LABORATORIES."
TRUE. Roche is a pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Switzerland.
CLAIM: "Do you know who bought the patent for Tamiflu from ROCHE LABORATORIES in 1996? GILEAD SCIENCES INC."
GARBLED. Gilead Sciences, Inc. discovered Tamiflu in the early 1990s and still holds the patent. Gilead licensed development and marketing rights to Roche in 1996.
CLAIM: "Do you know who was the then president of GILEAD SCIENCES INC. and remains a major shareholder? DONALD RUMSFELD, the present Secretary of Defence of the USA."
TRUE. According to Fortune magazine, Rumsfeld was Gilead's chairman from 1997 to 2001. It's unknown exactly how many shares he still owns in the company, but the value of his holdings is estimated at between $5 million and $25 million.
CLAIM: the "base" of Tamiflu is crushed aniseed.
TRUE. One of the basic ingredients of Tamiflu is shikimic acid, the main source of which is currently star anise, a spice grown in China. However, there are other methods of making shikimic acid, and Roche is already looking at ways to reduce its dependence on the star anise supply.
CLAIM: "Do you know who controls 90% of the world's production of this tree? ROCHE."
FALSE. According to a November 2005 report in the Washington Post, only about half of China's entire stock of star anise goes to pharmaceutical manufacturers, including Roche.
CLAIM: Sales of Tamiflu were over $254 million in 2004 and more than $1 billion in 2005?
ROUGHLY ACCURATE. According to Forbes magazine, Tamiflu sales totalled $258 million in 2004 and were projected to exceed $1 billion in 2005.
Bilderbergers, Rumsfeld Profit from Avian Flu Scam
Global News Matrix | October 24 2005
You can't make any real money without a boogeyman, and the new "Bird Flu" hoax is the latest scam used to generate profits for pharmaceutical company insiders.
"Finally, the pieces of the puzzle start to add up," writes Dr. Joseph Mercola, author of the "Total Health Program." "President Bush sought to instill panic in this country by telling us a minimum of 200,000 people will die from the avian flu pandemic but it could be as bad as 2 million deaths in this country alone."
"This hoax is then used to justify the immediate purchase of 80 million doses of Tamiflu, a worthless drug that in no way shape or form treats the avian flu, but only decreases the amount of days one is sick and can actually contribute to the virus having more lethal mutations," Mercola continues.
"So the U.S. placed an order for 20 million doses of this worthless drug at a price of $100 per dose. That comes to a staggering $2 billion.
US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, former chairman of Gilead, the manufacturer of Tamiflu, will also make big profits, since he is a major shareholder.
Better yet, Bilderberger spokesman Etienne F. Davignon (Vice-Chairman, Suez-Tractebel) and Reagan-Bush Cabal insider former Secretary of State George P. Shultz, PhD (Distinguished Fellow, Hoover Institution, Stanford University) are also on the board of directors of Gilead.
Another Bilderberger regular is Lodewijk J.R. de Vink, who sits on the board of Hoffman-La Roche, Gilead's partner.
In other words, the "Bird Flu" scam will generate outrageous profits for globalist-insiders like Shultz, Rumsfeld, Davignon, and de Vink.
And where did Tamiflu come from?
According to the Gilead website, "In September 1996, Gilead and F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. entered into a collaborative agreement to develop and market therapies that treat and prevent viral influenza. Under the agreement, Roche received exclusive worldwide rights to Gilead's proprietary influenza neuraminidase inhibitors, including orally administered Tamiflu (oseltamivir phosphate), formerly known as GS 4104. As part of this collaboration, Gilead and Roche jointly conducted clinical development of oseltamivir phosphate, with Roche funding all research and development costs. Roche has worldwide commercial rights to Tamiflu, and Gilead receives payments from Roche for the successful completion of program milestones and royalties on product sales.")
It should be remembered that Rumsfeld loves pharmaceutical scams. It was after all Rumsfeld, as chairman of G.D. Searle, who pressured the FDA to get Aspartame approved.
The FDA blocked its approval for ten years before Rumsfeld twisted arms and broke who knows how many legs at the FDA. Now Aspartame, an artificial sweetener as ubiquitous as it is toxic, continues to poison America and the world.
So here's an advertising tagline.

Fighting Deadly Flu, Mexico Shuts Schools
By MARC LACEY and DONALD G. McNEIL Jr.
MEXICO CITY — Mexican officials, scrambling to control a swine flu outbreak that has killed as many as 61 people and infected possibly hundreds more in recent weeks, closed museums and shuttered schools for millions of students in and around the capital on Friday, and urged people with flu symptoms to stay home from work.
“We’re dealing with a new flu virus that constitutes a respiratory epidemic that so far is controllable,” Mexico’s health minister, José Ángel Córdova, told reporters after huddling with President Felipe Calderón and other top officials on Thursday night to come up with an action plan. He said the virus had mutated from pigs and had at some point been transmitted to humans.
The new strain contains gene sequences from North American and Eurasian swine flus, North American bird flu and North American human flu, said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A similar virus has been found in the American Southwest, where officials have reported eight nonfatal cases.
Most of Mexico’s dead were young, healthy adults, and none were over 60 or under 3 years old, the World Health Organization said. That alarms health officials because seasonal flus cause most of their deaths among infants and bedridden elderly people, but pandemic flus — like the 1918 Spanish flu, and the 1957 and 1968 pandemics — often strike young, healthy people the hardest.
Mexican officials promised a huge immunization campaign in the capital in the coming days, while urging people to avoid large gatherings and to refrain from shaking hands or greeting women with a kiss on the right cheek, as is common in Mexico.
Mexico City closed museums and other cultural venues, and advised people not to attend movies or public events. Seven million students, from kindergartners to college students, were kept from classes in Mexico City and the neighboring State of Mexico on Friday, in what news organizations called the first citywide closing of schools since a powerful earthquake in 1985.
Because of the situation, the World Health Organization planned to consider raising the world pandemic flu alert to 4 from 3. Such a high level of alert — meaning that sustained human-to-human transmission of a new virus has been detected — has not been reached in recent years, even with the H5N1 avian flu circulating in Asia and Egypt, and would “really raise the hackles of everyone around the world,” said Dr. Robert G. Webster, a flu virus expert at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
Mexico’s flu season is usually over by now, but health officials have noticed a significant spike in flu cases since mid-March. The W.H.O. said there had been 800 cases in Mexico in recent weeks, 60 of them fatal, of a flulike illness that appeared to be more serious than the regular seasonal flu. Mr. Córdova said Friday that there were 1,004 possible cases.
Still, only a small number have been confirmed as cases of the new H1N1 swine flu, according to Gregory Hartl, a W.H.O. spokesman. Mexican authorities confirmed 16 deaths from swine flu and said 45 others were under investigation, most of them in the Mexico City area. The C.D.C. said that eight nonfatal cases had been confirmed in the United States, and that it had sent teams to California and Texas to investigate.
“We are worried,” said Dr. Richard Besser, the acting head of the C.D.C. “We don’t know if this will lead to the next pandemic, but we will be monitoring it and taking it seriously.”
There is no point in trying to use containment measures in the United States, he said, because the swine flu virus has already appeared from San Antonio to San Diego, without any obvious connections among cases. Containment measures usually work only when a disease is confined to a small area, he said.
The C.D.C. refrained from warning people not to visit Mexico. Even so, the outbreak comes at an awful time for tourism officials, who have been struggling to counter the perception that violence has made Mexico unsafe for travelers. The outbreak was also causing alarm among Mexicans, many of whom rushed to buy masks or get checkups.
“I hope it’s not something grave,” said Claudia Cruz, who took her 11-year-old son, Efrain, to a clinic on Friday after hearing the government warnings.
Health officials urged anyone with a fever, a cough, a sore throat, shortness of breath or muscle and joint pain to seek medical attention.
When a new virus emerges, it can sweep through the population, said Dr. Anne Moscona, a flu specialist at Cornell University’s medical school. The Spanish flu is believed to have infected at least 25 percent of the United States population, but killed less than 3 percent of those infected.
The leading theory on why so many young, healthy people die in pandemics is the “cytokine storm,” in which vigorous immune systems pour out antibodies to attack the new virus. That can inflame lung cells until they leak fluid, which can overwhelm the lungs, Dr. Moscona said.
But older people who have had the flu repeatedly in their lives may have some antibodies that provide cross-protection to the new strain, she said. And immune responses among the aged are not as vigorous.
Despite the alarm in recent years over the H5N1 avian flu, which is still circulating in China, Indonesia, Egypt and elsewhere, some flu experts argued that it would never cause a pandemic, because no H5 strain ever had. All previous pandemics have been caused by H1s, H2s or H3s.
Among the swine flu cases in the United States, none had had any contact with pigs; cases involving a father and daughter and two 16-year-old schoolmates convinced the authorities that the virus was being transmitted from person to person.
In Canada, hit by the SARS epidemic in 2003, health officials urged those who had recently traveled to Mexico and become ill to seek treatment immediately.
Marc Lacey reported from Mexico City, and Donald G. McNeil Jr. from New York. Ian Austen contributed reporting from Ottawa.
