**SPECIAL BOSTON EVENT for SOLIDARITY WITH THE AFRICAN VILLAGE SURVIVAL INITIATIVE**

Do you care about the Earth AND its peoples?

Have you always wondered how you could give back to Africa?

Do you want to see a more just, sustainable future for all peoples, and see the planet in the hands of better caretakers?

Come to the Democracy Center on Sunday, June 28th to find out more about the exciting work of the African Village Survival Initiative, a new program of the All-African People's Development & Empowerment Project that is building committees in African communities throughout the US in order to:

1. build networks of individual and collective African community gardens
2. promote the use of rainwater harvesting and simple water purification techniques for domestic purposes and garden irrigation
3. organize collective bulk food-buying clubs
4. develop self-sufficient economic institutions
5. provide regular community workshops on such topics as renewable energy, organic gardening, rooftop gardening, water purification, ecological sanitation and other appropriate, sustainable technologies
6. network with other like- minded people and organizations
7. promote sustainability- using practices that sustain the people and land for generations to come.

Come find out WHY this is important to support, especially in this economic crisis, and find out what you can do!

Refreshments provided.

FREE!
