March 4th will be the National Day to Defend Education!(http://www.defendeducation.org/) A call to action of which was put out by former occupiers of UC Berkley among others. In addition, some groups have widened the struggle to include the war on youth. This day will be about taking back the education of which ourselves, and our students deserve. These actions oppose budget cuts, tuition hikes, layoffs, union busting and degradation of the quality of life put forth by public and private institutions. Boston is especially important with over 30 colleges directly within or surrounding the city.
Yet, students aren't the only ones angry about the current situation. There are people being evicted from their homes as the banks are sitting comfortable after the "bail out," workers are consistently being mistreated and laid-off, and police continue their attack on people of color, supposed "illegal" persons and the poor. In times of financial trouble, as we are currently facing, basic needs are among the first to be cut. It is time that we take matters into our own hands and fight back.

Please Don't Feed the Trolls
Wikipedia defines an Internet Troll as: "An Internet troll is either a person who sends messages on the Internet hoping to entice other users into angry or fruitless responses, or a message sent by such a person." Boston IMC strives to provide both a grassroots media resource as well as a forum for people to contribute to a meaningful discussion about local issues. Please, when posting comments, be respectful of others and ignore those trying to interrupt or discourage meaningful discourse. Thank you.
