Professor Howard Zinn lived in greater Boston for nearly fifty years, and passed away on January 27, 2010. He is survived by generations of community organizers inspired by his writings, speeches and actions. Please join us in celebrating his legacy!

Featuring music, action and readings of Professor Zinn’s work in the labor, anti-war, education and civil rights movements presented by local organizers, students and artists!

Moderators:
* Dorothea Manuela, Boston Rosa Parks Human Rights Day Committee and Boston May Day Committee
* Karla Nicholson, Executive Director of Haymarket People's Fund

Speakers:

* Bob Moses, Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and founder of The Algebra Project
* Jeff Crosby, president, North Shore Labor Council and IUE-CWA Local 201
* Lauren Cooper, coordinator for the Zinn Education Project
* Michael Spinnato, member of Iraq Veterans Against the War and Veterans for Peace

* Paula Elliott, jazz vocalist and former Community Change Inc. Board member
* Jake and the Infernal Machine, political folk ensemble
* Natural Bliss, radical hip hop emcee

An open mic will follow the program across the street in Copley Square.

This event is open to the public. Donations are welcome and will be requested during the program. All donations above the cost of the event will be donated to the Zinn Education Project, promoting and supporting the use of Zinn’s works for teaching a people’s history in middle and high school classrooms across the country.
