This week's show features stories from China Radio International, Radio Netherlands, Radio Havana Cuba, Radio Deutsche-Welle, and the Voice of Russia.
From CHINA- China says it will maintain food prices, despite the rapid increases brought on by weather abnormalities. 1100 people have died from the latest flooding in China. Pakistan is still being devastated by the worst natural disaster in the nation's history. The Taliban in Pakistan are urging the government to reject aid offers from the US because it would never reach the people in need. The Mexican President says he is considering legalization of all drugs to slow down the related death toll of 28,000.
From NETHERLANDS- The leading French and Chinese press agencies signed a landmark deal to sell media to each other. The German Chancellor is being pressed to decide about abolishing all nuclear power plants by 2020. The controversial right-wing Dutch politician Geert Wilders will make an anti-Islamic speech at Ground Zero during the upcoming 911 commemoration.

The trial is beginning for the Canadian who has been in Guantanamo Prison for 8 years- he was 15 when abducted and subjected to repeated torture to elicit a confession. Civilian casualties in Afghanistan have risen 31% in the first half of 2010. A group of former CIA officials have formed a organization called VIPS, Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, warned President Obama that Israel plans to attack Iran this month.
From GERMANY- The terrible fires in Russia have spread to the regions contaminated by fallout from the Chernobyl nuclear accident, greatly escalating the danger to all living things in the range of the winds.
From RUSSIA- Colombia and Venezuela reached an agreement on the restoration of their diplomatic ties. By Wednesday, the area on fire in Russia had been reduced by 50%. Russia has banned grain exports because the harvest is predicted to be less than adequate to feed the Russian people. I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at http://radio.mediageek.net

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday afternoon at 4:30pm (PDST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via < http://www.kzyx.org >
There are several other streams that work better- < http://www.freakradio.org >Freak Radio Santa Cruz now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am.(PDST)
The Shortwave Report may be downloaded as a podcast from < feed://www.radio4all.net/responder.php/podcast/podcast.xml?series=outFarpress+presents > or iTunes (search for "shortwave" in podcasts)
Check out the amazing streams at < http://www.radicalradio.org >
And Radio For Peace International at < http://www.rfpi.org >

I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)
