5/10 Economic Justice for Mothers & Rally for Janitors
09 May 2004
Working mothers speak out for economic justice (12-noon), then march in support of janitors fighting for a living wage.
Annual Mother’s Day Action
Sunday, Mothers got flowers.
Monday, Mothers join in demanding Economic Justice for Mothers!

Press Conference
Monday, May 10th 12noon - 1pm

14 Beacon St., Boston 1st floor conference room

Join Living Wage and Anti Poverty Activists as they demand justice for all working mothers and an end to the attack on welfare, housing subsidies, Shelters, and MassHealth.

Because a Mothers’ work is not only never done, it is still not paid! Single mothers are overwhelmingly under paid and in poverty!

Sponsored by the Low-Income Welfare Organizing Collaborative,

And then join in with the Marchers as they continue the struggle from the March Against Poverty and go to the Ritz Carlton Condos (one of the priciest addresses in Boston!) in support of janitors' (some of the lowest paid in the area!) fighting for a living wage! The Janitors are from Commercial Cleaning and are facing hour reductions, firing, and harassment for joining a union and demanding respect, dignity, and an end to poverty wages. The Anti-Poverty Marchers will be standing up to these fat cats at the Ritz and asking them to use responsible contractors!

The Condos are located at the corner of Washington St. and Avery St.
