13 May 2004
Reverend Billy will blow your mind. Hear excerpts from his book and learn how to turn your Oddness loose on the consumer lamescape.
hallluja!

Bill Talen reads from What Should I Do If Reverend Billy Is in My Store?*

Released last Buy Nothing Day from The New Press, this comic journal of direct action, "re-narrating contested space," chronicles arrest by transnational chain store police and redemption in a world of invented theology.

The irony of this is that the owner of Wordsworth has really horrible politics. He gives part of his profits to right-wing anti-Palestinian groups. (I'm guessing the Reverend Billy didn't know this when he decided to read from his book there. He probably just saw an independent bookstore and decided it was preferrable to Barnes & Noble or Borders.)
