Song For Columbus(Indigenous Peoples)Day Oct. 12

Yesterday Oct. 12 was the day Columbus
began the European genocide of 100 million
Native people in the Americas-Columbus discovered
nothing-there were people here for 40,000 years
before 1492. A priest who travelled with Columbus named Bartolomeo De La Casas wrote a book about Columbus abuse of the Native people he encountered; Native political prisoner Leonard Peltier is a current example of the continued oppression of Native peoples. Here is a song I wrote about him:

A good film about Peltier is Robert Redford's
"Incident At Oglala" that came out in 1988.
