Harvard Univ Public Talk - 9 March - Fr. Bryan Hehir:Peace, Nuclear Weapons Proliferation, and the Public Voice -Stop the US War Machine!
09 Mar 2015
When: Monday, March 9, 2015, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Where: Harvard University, Barker Center, Room 133 • Harvard T • Cambridge

Please join Peace & Planet on March 9 in Cambridge to hear the distinguished scholar Fr. Bryan Hehir present a Catholic approach to nuclear disarmament.
The occasion will be an organizing meeting for the Peace & Planet Mobilization for a Nuclear Free, Just, and Sustainable World in New York City, April 26, 2015.

The U.S. plans to spend $1 trillion on its nuclear weapons over the next 30 years, but we are told we don't have $3 billion to fix the MBTA.

Hehir is Parker Gilbert Montgomery Professor of the Practice of Religion and Public Life at the Harvard Kennedy School and Secretary for Health Care and Social Services in the Archdiocese of Boston. He was executive director of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops when the conference wrote its pastoral letters calling for nuclear disarmament, and was dean of the Harvard Divinity School. Please invite your contacts in faith communities to this lecture which is sure to be a rewarding event! Read a recent article.

After hearing and discussing Fr. Hehir's remarks we will make plans to organize Massachusetts residents to participate in the Peace & Planet Mobilization for a Nuclear-Free, Just, and Sustainable World.

Will you help us make it happen? Sign up today and give us your feedback and reserve your bus ticket today!

*** NEW LOCATION *** The Barker Center is at 12 Quincy Street, near Harvard Square. Enter from Quincy Street, opposite the Lamont Gate. The Barker Center is the large brick building facing the Faculty Club.
