Emergency Mobilization Against Violent Racists
Wallingford, CT- Round 2
Saturday, April 21st
On Saturday April 21st, World Church of the Creator leader Matt Hale and his gang of racist thugs will once again invade the town of Wallingford, CT. This is the second time in two months that Hale has held a “public meeting” in Wallingford- the first time being on March 10th at the Wallingford public library. At his previous meeting, Hale was met by over 200 anti-racist militants, who did their utmost to stop the meeting from taking place. Over 100 local police and state troopers in full riot gear, using attack dogs and pepper spray, were employed in protecting Hale’s meeting from disruption. The loyalties of the police at this event were laid bare when they allowed neo-nazis to hand pick who would and who would not be allowed into the library, and arrested one anti-racist activist for simply refusing to sit down, after he had been physically accosted by a group of nazis inside the meeting while trying to take a picture.
The timing of this second meeting is most insidious. As many of you are familiar, the weekend of the 21st coincides with massive demonstrations in Quebec City, against the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas. Hale is clearly counting on most of us being out of the country and unable to oppose him. We must clearly demonstrate that we are capable of fighting on multiple fronts at once- and winning! Given the behavior of the police in March, we can only assume the worst as to their behavior at this meeting. Furthermore, this meeting will most likely be outdoors, allowing the Nazis to arm themselves as they see fit, so come prepared.
This is a call to action for everyone who cannot make it to Quebec City, and to everyone who is turned back at the border: Come to Wallingford! We were well over 200 last time on less than one week's notice, yet apparently, Hale didn’t get the message: racist thugs are not welcome, anywhere! Lets make sure that this time he gets the message loud and clear.
