Author and Stanford law professor, Mugambi Jouet

Cambridge Forum is delighted to present Stanford law professor, Mugambi Jouet who will discuss his new book "Exceptional America" on what divides Americans from the world and from each other.

Why are Americans more divided than other Westerners over basic issues including wealth inequality, health care, climate change, evolution, gun control, abortion, gay rights, mass incarceration and the death penalty? Is America becoming more polarized and how does American exceptionalism explain these social changes?

Raised in Paris and the United States, Jouet has studied, travelled and worked in several countries. He holds three degrees and speaks three languages. In addition to his legal work, his articles have appeared in Mother Jones, The New Republic and Le Monde. His mother is French and his father is Kenyan.

Come join the discussion which is free and open to all.
