USM Car Protests this Saturday outside JP Morgan Chase
13 May 2020
Modified: 12:55:57 PM
Hello to the folks at the Boston Indimedia,

My name is Mary from Uhuru Solidarity Movement. I would like to share with you this powerful upcoming action in Boston on May 16th to ignite our campaign to "Make Wall Street Pay Reparations". We appreciate your consideration for news coverage, please reach out with any questions or interview requests.
WHERE: Chase Bank, 48 Salem St, Boston MA 02113

WHEN: 12pm, Saturday, May 16, 2020
CONTACT: usmboston (at) riseup.net; 781-214-8131

On Saturday, May 16th at 12pm, a caravan of protesters in cars plan to circle the 48 Salem St. location of JP Morgan Chase to demand the bank and its CEO, Jamie Dimon, pay reparations to the black community.

The demonstration is organized by the Uhuru Solidarity Movement as part of its national campaign to “Make Wall Street Pay Reparations.”

According to the lead organizer Halley Murray, the demonstration is targeting JP Morgan Chase because it has “profited from the slave trade, financed the private prison industry, and raked in billions off the COVID-19 bailout while African and Indigenous people are dying at disproportinately high rates in this country.”

The demonstration will begin at 11am outside the South Station Bus Terminal, headed north up Atlantic Ave past the JP Morgan location at 50 Rowes Wharf and the Chase Bank at 48 Salem St. The caravan will continue to loop around the city honking horns and displaying large banners demanding reparations, and end at South Station.
