Dennis Kucinich failed, Peace in the Pricints failed, Howard Dean failed, Jerry Brown campaign failed, Rainbow Coalition failed, "work from the inside" to change the party failed.

It is time for us to come to grips with an unpleasant reality. The "Democratic party is", to quote David Cobb "where progressive politics goes to die." In the lead up to the war, while millions of us were out in the streets saying HELL NO to this brutal, immoral and racist war, the Democratic party, for the most part, with the noble exception of the rare few like Dennis and Barbara Lee, abandoned us. At a time when we desperatly need a voice to represent us and our views, the only politicians speaking for us were in Germany and France. Simple, plain and undisputable fact.

So that leaves us with two, not mutually exclusive, options.
1. Hit the Streets
2. Join and build the Green Party, Ralph Nader's Populist Party, Peace and Freedom Party, Labor Party, Socialist Party or what ever party you feel attuned to.

time to ahhh moveondotorg folks. Time to move on and build and resist and dissent.

You know folks, I look at enthusiastic Kerry supporters in much the same way that whites who supported the ANC must have felt about apologists for the "tolerant wing" of Apartheid.

People, we know who we are. We are the people who would have harboured Jews in Germany in 1939, if we were not in the camps with them. We are the people who helped build the underground railroad in the South, freeing slaves. We are the people who rode with John Brown. We are the Emma Goldmans. We are the dissidents of a brutal, immoral and racist war on Iraq to aid the Oil corporations and of the culture and society that allowed it.

I am proud of you all.

There is a discernable difference between the Democrats and the Republicans.
The Republicans are the good cop.
The Democrats are the bad cop.
Me, I'd rather be fighting police brutality, how about you.

What a cute couple. Maybe John ( don't let Theresa find out ) Kerry can give the former candidate an assist. Anything for Party unity.

So, it love, or is it Photoshop?

Errr...

Those of us who are the "Emma Goldmans" might not actually feel "attuned to" party politics of ANY brand.

The party-form itself is where progressive politics goes to die.

In the wake of the tremendous victories won by progressive activists in the Kucinich and Dean campaigns in helping to select the Democratic Presidential nominee, other interested parties sign up for Progressive Democrats of America.
