BOSTON MAYDAY - NOISY ANTICAP MARCH; BIG GENERAL AMNESTY RALLY |

Noisy illegal street carnival, maybe 150 people. Anarchist, socialist, anticapitalist. A few motorcycle
cops tried to herd us onto the sidewalks at first. Beautiful weather, lots of fun. Later, we joined in
the General Amnesty rally for undocumented immigrants, on the common - at least a thousand people. |
If you were there, post an article. Funniest moment of the anticapitalist illegal march -- from an upper
floor of an office building, three white middle aged suits did "mooning the rabble" gestures out
the window. They were stuck in an air conditioned tower, and stuck in a role of exploitation,
on a beautiful Mayday. We raised a few fists, laughed, and kept on with the carnival.
The General Amnesty rally was huge, and had the strongest messages I heard on Mayday - the
testimony of lots of immigrant workers. Also Sweeney was there, but to me his words didn't
matter so much -- he was almost like a big, white haired chess piece with lots of power, but
coopted, that somebody plunked down in front of the microphone. |
