Black Tea March covered on ABC |
|
The Black Tea Society's march 7/29 got a brief blurb on ABC evening news. I've seen a bunch of newspaper articles about the protests against the "free" speech zones, but this was the first TV coverage of any of the DNC protests I saw. Unfortunately, it was more of a "look at these crazy kids fighting with the cops" story than a story that addressed any of the real issues. |

Addressed any real issues? A bunch of morons jumping over a fire. What did you think the world would think other than "look at these crazy kids fighting with the cops". |
|
I found it inspirational. |

I'm part of the world and, upon seeing the demonstrators jumping over the fire I thought, "Right On!" Fuck the fascists. |

Intelligent people all over the country saw the protests, because we went looking for the coverage of them. I saw them here. But we also saw that the protests were smaller than they have been for Bush appearances, and didn't make news because of that. I think the reason is that while Kerry will continue the war, we know that he is closer in ideology to us than are the dangerous warmongers in power now. Is he the populist, progressive, hard hitting liberal we would love to see trash the status quo? No. But that candidate couldn't win right now. Our issues will have a better chance of being addressed by Kerry than by Bush. Please help us tell the world that by helping us protest the RNC in a HUGE way.

while Bush is a warmongering fascist, I also refuse to support Kerry in anyway. If I can get to the RNC, its not because I'm anyone but bush, but its because I hate both candidates. |

look i respect you rnc folks really i do but i think i'm speaking for a lot of us here and you guys are missing the point. like mothra said both candidates are the problem and protesting against one isn't enough it's about showing systemic problems not just looking at one little thing. look at the dnc2rnc or the range of the bts propaganda, even some of your own flyers address this but you guys didn't give us much support. yeah we'll be down and yeah i'll be running as a medic and we're gonna share our resorces but it really hurts the way y'all have been devisive. it's not the way to change the world and that is in the end the goal. |
