Bandanas Returned
09 Aug 2004
The bandanas confiscated during the DNC protests have been safely returned. See original article at boston.indymedia.org/newswire/display/25098/index.php
The bandanas confiscated during the DNC protests have been safely returned. I recieved a mysterious package one morning. Checking its contents, imagine my surprise as I discovered my long-lost bandanas. I thought those ones were gone for good. After giving them a good wash, I returned them to their rightful home, on top of my dresser.
It is interesting to note that the bandanas were mailed from what appeared to be Officer Armstrong's home adress, indicating that he paid for the postage himself. If I have time, I'll send him a thank-you note, and maybe a gift-certificate to Dunkin' Donuts...

Let's see, somebody does the right thing, does what they canto right a wrong, has to swallow at least a little of their pride to do it.....and you can't resist insulting them.

Yep, you're doing your part to make a better world all right......NOT!

Returning the bandanas doesn't undo what Armstrong did. I would be surprised if the bandanas would have been returned if there hadn't been an outpouring about his behavior (for example, I know people who took the picture of him walking away with the bandanas and wrote something like "I'm cool because I can steal from kids -officer Armstrong) and distributed this on a flyer throughout the area). Also, there was no apology note with it and there is no proof the officer regrets it. For all you know his wife could have sent them back after hearing the story. Aaron made a joke, he didn't actually do it (I think) so get over it!

As a Boston Police Officer he caught a lot of heat from his higher ups.

If he was so remorseful then why didn't he return them at the time, a theft is still a theft even after the thief gets caught. Even after the thief gets caught he is still a thief even after returning the stolen goods.

You should be sending officer Armstrong a federal lawsuit, not a gift certificate.

Hey thanks for taking the time to document what happened to you. I was personally harrased several times by pigs, illegaly seachered and harrased. The fact that you kept your head and told them your rights is good all though your story proves once again that "people" like police do nothing but take away freedoms, not protect them. I also agree that your bandanas would not have been returned if you had not created an outcry and post, I have two friends who had the excat thing happen to them (property being illegaly seached, sezied, and then thrown in the trash) Your a chill kid hope to see you in NYC!
