Iraq war vet: "I’ve seen guys cut their trigger fingers so they wouldn’t have to go"
19 Aug 2004
The new issue of Traveling Soldier is out!
This issue features:

1. "I looked in her eyes and I told her ‘peace’ in Arabic but what was she thinking when I told her ‘peace’ and I’m standing there with an M-16 trying to clear her house?" - Traveling Soldier interviews a Marine artilleryman who was in the invasion of Iraq last year.

2. Another medically unfit soldier was sent back to Iraq and his wife sent us this letter.

3. Bush says, "I want to be the peace president." Yes, that IS a real quote.

4. The election isn't until November 2nd, but Traveling Soldier already knows who won.

5. What happened to the anti-war movement? Why did it collapse, and where do we go from here? Activist Keith Rosenthal takes a hard look at the weaknesses and strengths of the anti-war movement.

6. Former prison guard and army vet Lou Plummer reports about how vets, military families, and active duty troops in Fayetteville, NC (next to Ft. Bragg) reacted to Michael Moore's blockbuster film Fahrenheit 9/11.

7. VVAW member Daniel Borgstrom writes about the death of his friend, Sgt. Van Dale Todd.

8. An update on the first soldier to quit Iraq war, Camilo Mejia.

9. Words from the front-lines - what soldiers are saying about the war in Iraq.

10. Download the new Traveling Soldier to pass it out at your school, workplace, or nearby base.

Unfortunatly it will take an anti-war effort from within the military itself to end this escalating war in the middle-east. That may take awhile, unless the White House invades Iran, which will happen if Bush get elected.

Oh well...either way we are screwed.
