KOBE Headquarters salutes the FBI for their Efforts

KOBE fully supports and salutes the efforts of America's elite elite intelligence authorities, specifically the FBI and the CIA. Although the mission of the CIA has changed with the fall of the Soviet Union and other Cold War enemies, the mission of the FBI has become an essential part of American security and protection of her citizens. Recently, the FBI has come under fire because they have actively and aggressively pursued tips and leads which involve the scrutiny and investigation of members of the dissident and activist groups which are widely distributed across the nation. We believe that it is the right of every American to be kept safe from such groups, as well as the actions of such groups against other Americans who do not share their views.

One could look at this issue in a variety of ways, but the most obvious are the dictionary definitions of words commonly used in speaking about politics (the art or science of government). We used Mirriam-Webster's Online Dictionary for these definitions. When looking at these words, one may forget their intrinsic meanings and the essential nature of the political struggle in America. In reviewing these definitions, keep in mind that most dissident "communities" and activists fail to recognize the irony: it is the very freedoms afforded by American Democracy and the 1st Amendment Free Speech guarantees which allow them to exist in the first place! They use their speech and freedom of expression to attack that which gives it life to begin with. The current bitching and whining about "prisoner abuses" in Abu Ghraib seem so ridiculous in the wake of beheadings and torture of American and other hostages taken in Middle East/Muslim countries in the 21st Century alone. Some of us are old enough to remember the heinous murder of Israeli athletes in the 1972 Olympics by Muslim "extremists",  or the horrendous bombing of US Marine Barrracks in 1983. Profiling of Muslims is all too necessary when one reads this chilling directive in their so-called "Holy" book, the Koran:

"When you (Muslims) encounter infidels (non-Muslims), behead them." (Koran 47:4)æ "I (Allah) will terrorize the hearts of the infidels (non-Muslims). Behead   them and cut all their finger-tips because they did not believe in Allah  and his messenger (Muhammad). If anyone does not believe in Allah and his  messenger, Allah has severe punishment." (Koran 8:12,13)

After 9/11 (and in the decades preceding), the pattern has become quite well established, and the majority of culprits by a HUGE margin are Islamic extremists, and even the more common Muslim Fundamentalist groups. The profiling of Muslims and their supporters is logical and necessary. Those who ignorant or are simply unaware of the dangers of Islam and other dangerous ideologies such as anarchism, communism and socialism in American society often join dissident groups which indirectly support the enemies of the United States and her allies. American government WORKS. Where all other systems have failed, America stands tall and proud and remains the world leader in all aspects of society. America is the template to which all other emerging democracies aspire. There is nothing at all sinister about that, and there is nothing more important than protecting America's existence and strength.

Pronunciation: -d&nt
Function: adjective
Etymology: Latin dissident-, dissidens, present participle of dissidEre to sit apart, disagree, from dis- + sedEre to sit -- more at SIT
: disagreeing especially with an established religious or political system, organization, or belief
- dissident noun

That definition describes the American who may support one party but not another, the two sides of a debate, the two sides of a coin. To a Republican, a Democrat is a dissident. The reverse is also true. Disagreement is American. Disagreement is patriotic.

Pronunciation: 'ak-ti-"vi-z&m
Function: noun
: a doctrine or practice that emphasizes direct vigorous action especially in support of or opposition to one side of a controversial issue
- ac·tiv·ist  /-vist/ noun or adjective
- ac·tiv·is·tic  /"ak-ti-'vis-tik/ adjective

That definition describes something a little more than disagreement. "Vigorous action" may include violent protest, shouting and protesting in the streets. Rarely do patriots express dissent in this way unless it is a matter of extreme national importance (i.e. Civil Rights, Constitutional abuses, etc). For the Left, it is the status quo, and scruffy disenfranchised youths and outcasts can be found protesting anything from "endangered flies" to eating meat. For the Right, proper and judicious use of the VOTE in organized numbers is sufficient.

Pronunciation: 'a-n&r-kist, -"när-
Function: noun
1 : one who rebels against any authority, established order, or ruling power
2 : one who believes in, advocates, or promotes anarchism or anarchy; especially : one who uses violent means to overthrow the established order
- anarchist or an·ar·chis·tic  /"a-n&r-'kis-tik, -(")när-/ adjective

Anarchists, communists and socialists represent the greatest threat to America. Living within her borders are such groups who advocate the overthrow of the American government in favor of a failed or nonexistent governmental system. Such groups can be considered antagonists and enemies of America and the American way of life.

Pronunciation: 'e-n&-mE
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural -mies
Etymology: Middle English enemi, from Old French, from Latin inimicus, from in- 1in- + amicus friend -- more at AMIABLE
1 : one that is antagonistic to another; especially : one seeking to injure, overthrow, or confound an opponent
2 : something harmful or deadly
3 a : a military adversary b : a hostile unit or force

Interesting definition: "1 : one that is antagonistic to another; especially : one seeking to injure, overthrow, or confound an opponent". Please see above definitions for "Activism" and "Anarchist".

Pronunciation: 'pA-trE-&t, -"ät, chiefly British 'pa-trE-&t
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle French patriote compatriot, from Late Latin patriota, from Greek patriOtEs, from patria lineage, from patr-, patEr father
: one who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests

We think that the definition of "Patriot" stands clear on its own.

The Mission of the FBI

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the principal investigative arm of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). Title 28, United States Code (U.S. Code), Section 533, which authorizes the Attorney General to "appoint officials to detect... crimes against the United States," and other federal statutes give the FBI the authority and responsibility to investigate specific crimes. At present, the FBI has investigative jurisdiction over violations of more than 200 categories of federal crimes. The Ten Most Wanted List has been used since the 1930s to notify the public of wanted fugitives.

The mission of the FBI is to uphold the law through the investigation of violations of federal criminal law; to protect the United States from foreign intelligence and terrorist activities; to provide leadership and law enforcement assistance to federal, state, local, and international agencies; and to perform these responsibilities in a manner that is responsive to the needs of the public and is faithful to the United States Constitution.

Information obtained through an FBI investigation is presented to the appropriate U. S. Attorney or DOJ official, who decides if prosecution, or other action, is warranted. Top priority has been assigned to the five areas that affect society the most: counterterrorism, drugs/organized crime, foreign counterintelligence, violent crimes, and white-collar crimes.

The FBI has had a mixed history, both in upholding the law, and sometimes in breaking it. However, the general impression which most Americans hold of the FBI, is that it is a very effective agency in fighting crime. The force of Special Agents has grown over the years, and now exceeds 11,000. Many of these Special Agents are stationed in foreign countries, and work in US Embassies as "Legal Attaches", or as they are know in the FBI: LEGATS. Both new and veteran agents are routinely trained at the FBI Academy in Quantico VA.
