Re: IMC General Meeting Tonight (Sunday 9/5)

I really enjoyed the meeting tonight, especially meeting all my friends at IMC. Of all the positions taken, I most objected to Pete implying that it was a bad thing that there were so many white males there. That belief implies that white males cannot form a good movement, and must import a soul from some other more weak group.

That is patently untrue. A group of white men can be as weak and as resource deprived as the lowliest peasant of Chiapas. That much is true based on the meeting.

Why not view your demographic makeup as a strength instead of a weakness? I know of no meeting that was ever improved by fetching a few other races, unless of course the white guilt is lagging the meeting down so far that nothing can be planned.

That is my heart felt analysis.

And that the Lucy Parsons Center should invest in a better sign. Does the old one have sentimental value? It looks like crap.
