Kerry Trying to Please NRA Members?
07 Sep 2004
shoot.jpg
Nice pic!! From Kerry's web site.

I have to say, once we've taken down Bush, we must not let Kerry forget our demands. We have a LONG way ahead of us. Politicians will always be politicians, whether from the right or left (ie, how sad that Nader would take help from Republicans to get his name on the ballot). Social justice goes beyond our borders and will carry on after this election.

Kerry should be out to please NRA members. The second amendment guarantees American citizens the right to own and posess firearms.

When the USA was formed, the minutemen turned statesmen did not go out and round up all the weapons used by the militias.

That is because the right to bear arms is one of the founding premises of being an American citizen.

Hopefully Kerry knows what it means to be an American citizen.

Being from Michigan, I generally find that the debate around this issue is silly. Some people DO use guns for sport and collecting. (I don't find hunting very nice, but then again, in many ways, hunting for food is more honest than eating meat without hunting!)

But no hunter needs access to assault weapons or to numerous guns every month. Nor have a I heard a good reason why someone can't deal with a waiting period to buy a gun. Hysterical language about politicians rounding up all the guns and comparisons to fascism are just silly.

hopefully we all know that decent people stand by their beliefs and don't change just to please people, something almost all politicians are guilty of. why should he be out to please the NRA rather than animal rights activists?
Also, NRA members shouldn't vote for Kerry based on this picture, they should base their opinion of him on his voting record and what he says. photo-ops are ridiculous.
Assult Weapons Ban Lifted September 14! Ya'll!

A six-month historical record of his 147th Fighter Interceptor Group, also turned over to the AP on Tuesday, shows some of the training Bush missed with his colleagues during that time.

Significantly, it showed the unit joined a "24-hour active alert mission to safeguard against surprise attack" in the southern United State beginning on Oct. 6, 1972, a time when Bush did not report for duty, according to his pay records.

Bush's lone service in October was outside Texas, presumably with an Alabama unit he had permission to train with in September, October and November 1972.

As part of the mission, the 147th kept two F-102a jets -- the same Bush flew before he was grounded -- on ready alert to be launched within five minutes' warning.

The records also show Bush made a grade of 88 on total airmanship and a perfect 100 for flying without navigational instruments, operating a T-38 System and studying applied aerodynamics. Other scores ranged from 89 in flight planning to 98 in aviation physiology.

The newly released records do not include any from five categories of documents Bush's commanders had been required to keep in response to the gaps in Bush's training in 1972 and 1973. For example, National Guard commanders were required to perform an investigation whenever any pilot skipped a medical exam and forward the results up the Air Force chain of command. No such documents have surfaced.

Kerry is decidedly AGAINST the second amendment. He was on the radio today 9/10/04 rallying to take weapons out of the hands of persons who purchase them lawfully.
