Progressive Talk Radio Network Now On Boston AM Radio
04 Oct 2004
Modified: 05 Oct 2004
As of today, Air America Radio, a progressive talk radio network, now broadcasts on WKOX 1200 AM and WXKS 1430 AM in Boston.
Air America Radio is now broadcasting from Boston!! It's a liberal, progressive talk radio network with hosts like Chuck D, Al Franken, and Randi Rhodes. It's further to the left than NPR or PBS (not hard to do), but you do have to listen to some ads... aside from that, it's great.

Tune in:

Boston, MA - WKOX 1200 AM and WXKS 1430 AM

Satellite Radio: XM Satellite Radio - ch. 167 Sirius Satellite Radio - ch. 144

Western Mass: Northampton, MA - WHMP 1400 AM

Or listen online:

Also, don't forget:

Democracy Now!:

Pacifica Radio: WBAI (NYC): KPFA (SF):

Atheist Radio Network: (Are there any progressive religious radio networks?)

What's "progressive" about a corporate-sponsored and Ultra-Rich-subsidized "talk radio network" that acts as a propaganda tool for the same Corporate Democratic Party which denies political independent candidates like Ralph Nader his free speech right to be on the November ballot in Massachusetts?

All I can say is that from a tactical standpoint, working class people are better off listening to radio that isn't encouraging racism, sexism, homophobia and anti-poor classism than the Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly crap.

If you want the Green Party message to be heard, you as an activist have to work to make it heard. It is pointless to run a candidate for president. Why can't we have all that energy put in to having a mayor of Cambridge or Somerville or even Boston that isn't just a business-shill? That would actually have a winning chance and not be a pathetic joke. But, hey, don't listen to me.

From a working class libertarian perspective I'd say that the best government (if one is forced to have government at all) is the government that will least interfere with working class interests and working class self-organization.
