On November 3rd, we will be ready for whatever the outcome is of the presidential election. After organizing for months, and with over 100 local groups contacted, we will take to the streets in opposition to Bush or Kerry, and to a fraudulent election that has already begun. |

We have already heard stories of election fraud: a false group registering voters in Pennsylvania ripping up Democratic registration papers, thousands of New Yorkers also registered in Florida, bogus electronic voting machines owned by Republican donors, thousands of minorities black-listed in Florida, and absentee ballots that never came. Nobody knows what will actually happen on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004, but we do know that we will be in the streets on November 3rd.
** If Bush wins, dozens of local groups have called for a protest in Copley Square at 5:00pm. In the event that there is a repeat of 2000 and there is no declared winner- same time and place. This is near the Back Bay stop on the orange line and commuter rail, and also on the green line (Copley T stop).
** If Kerry wins, some groups have called for a protest at the the Military Recruiting Center, Tremont St. at 5:00pm. This is near the Park Street T stop.
Please bring instruments, signs, banners, music, flags, props for street theater, and whatever else seems reasonable.
This is not a permitted event, because the organizers feel that we should granted our freedom of assembly regardless of petty regulations, especially after the behavior of Boston and New York City towards protesters attempting to obtain permits during the DNC and RNC.
There is also a call for direct action all day and for as long as necessary. This would include, but not be exclusive to, banner drops, surprise protests, sit ins, flyers, or whatever else. |
