Iraqi reports for November 12, 13, 14, and 15
16 Nov 2004
Modified: 02:21:23 PM
A good deal of what is said in these articles is borne out by the corporate press's final admissions that fighting to the death continues in Fallujah, and that it has spread throughout Iraq. Apparently the morons bent on this occupation learned nothing from Vietnam.

Anyone whose first reaction is to balk at the actions of the resistance should remember that:

1. there would've been no need for resistance had there been no occupation;
2. as we're ringing our hands over the "cycle of violence" in Iraq the resistance is the only one rising to the challenge of actually defending the Iraqi people from the savagery of the occupiers, even as those butcherous troops are obliterating Fallujah;
3. As in the cases of Vietnam, China and Cuba, it'll be the Iraqis and their will to fight the occupation which will free them from the occupation and the foreign exploitation which the u.s. has already begun there.

The Gandhian model which the anti war movement is bent on ramming down the throats of colonized people is neither here nor there because:
1. at the time that Britain negotiated with Gandhi, it was still reeling from the losses sustained in the second world war, so it was hardly in any shape to mount a full offensive to keep India;
2. their alternative to negotiating with Gandhi would've been to confront those factions of the independence movement that were still fighting;
3. ultimately, leaving India did not diminish Britain's ability to exploit the Indian people, as they had to among other things agree to compensate the British for their investments, never mind that they were never asked to colonize that country and set up shop.

The careless disregard with which multinational companies are able to treat the people of India is precisely one of the results of that "peacefully negotiated" "independence," We have no right whatsoever to impose that model on any other people.

Iraqi Resistance Report for events of Friday, 12 November 2004

Translated and/or compiled by Muhammad Abu Nasr, member editorial board The Free Arab Voice.

Friday, 12 November 2004.

Al-Fallujah.

Ten US troops killed in evening ambush between al-Fallujah and al-'Amiriyah.

Ten US troops were killed at 6pm (around sunset) Friday when Iraqi Resistance forces attacked and destroyed two US Humvees in the area between al-Fallujah
and al-'Amiriyah.

Uneasy and relative quiet settles in.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40pm local time (10:40pm Mecca time) the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fighting had greatly died
down in the city, though it was still going on in several places on the edges of the city.

Fighting had died down in the south of the city since about sunset when the American forces that had been surrounded inside the city had got out.

Meanwhile the Resistance fired rocket attacks on concentrations of American troops north of al-Fallujah. The Resistance also bombarded the US forces located
in the cemetery near the railroad tracks. They fired Grad and Tariq rockets at the US forces encamped in the agricultural area north of the city.

Still there are several gun battles still going on in the north of the al-Jawlan neighborhood, though the US forces have been unable to make virtually any
headway. It is thought likely that the Americans are trying to distract a large part of the Resistance forces from the US column that remains encircled
on al-Hadrah Street, hoping that it might be able to extract itself and escape from the city towards the east, lest it share the fate of the column that
was wiped out in al-Jaghifi.

Resistance in al-Fallujah unites, appoints General Commander of operations and an official spokesman.

The Iraqi Resistance forces in al-Fallujah on Thursday appointed one of their members as General Commander of all Jihadi formations in the city. There are
more than eight Resistance organizations operating in the city. The groups had come together and united for the first time since the fall of Baghdad under
the leadership of one of their men who has considerable experience in street fighting.

In addition, the Iraqi Resistance in al-Fallujah has appointed an official spokesman, making the Resistance more organized. This new unity has encouraged
the al-Fallujah Resistance to achieve the grand results that they achieved on Thursday. Since the unification, the Resistance in the city has made big
advances in coordinating their activities and attacks using pre-planned and well-thought out correct military tactics.

As a result, the US forces are now fighting a war of attrition. For the third straight day American forces have been drawn into the city allowing the Resistance
to inflict heavy damage on the enemy.

Resistance downs Black Hawk helicopter in al-Fallujah.

Iraqi Resistance forces in al-Fallujah shot down a US Black Hawk helicopter with a Strela missile on Friday.

The helicopter was keeping Iraqi Resistance fighters "busy" to facilitate the escape of several American tanks from a tight spot. But the Resistance attacked
the helicopter with a Strela rocket, shooting it down and killing the four crewmen aboard - two machine gunners on the sides of the craft and the pilot
and co-pilot.

US forces, meanwhile, bombarded the al-'Amiriyah neighborhood south of al-Fallujah at about 8pm Friday night, destroying two houses and killing five families
and wounding other people inside. Two women and an 11-year-old little girl are among the dead.

US forces encircled inside al-Fallujah after most Americans have pulled out of the city.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Fallujah reported on Friday evening that Resistance forces in the city Friday allowed US aggressor troops into
several areas of the city and then encircled them so as to attack them on their terms, not those of the occupation forces. By convincing the Americans
that the Resistance had left, the fighters were able to attack and fight the US troops in areas where their aircraft and heavy weapons could not help them.

In accordance with this plan, US troops proceeded down as-Sirdar Street in the al-Jawlan and ash-Shurtah neighborhoods. They also entered the al-'Askari
neighborhood from the direction of the First and Second ad-Dubbat neighborhoods on the street that runs between the ash-Shurtah neighborhood to the north
and the al-'Askari neighborhood to the south, bringing the US troops to the heart of the main street. There the attacks on the US forces began in earnest.

The Resistance in al-Fallujah mounted several ambushes on the US troops and managed to cut some units off from the others, splitting up the attackers. This
enabled the Resistance to inflict damage on the American forces in men and materiel. The Resistance totally purged the industrial zone of American invader
troops from the southeast. The an-Nazal and ash-Shuhada' areas were also cleared of American forces. At the time the correspondent filed his report, posted
at 10:15pm local time (9:15pm Mecca time) Friday night, fighting was limited to the edges of those districts. At that time an entire US column was surrounded
on al-Hadrah Street which is located between the ash-Shurtah neighborhood and the ad-Dubbat neighborhood.

Resistance forces ambushed the Americans in those areas by posting sharpshooters along the path where the US troops were to come, enabling them to shoot
down numerous foot soldiers who had been landed by the Americans on Festival Square Sahat al-Ihtifalat. At the same time the narrow lanes pressed the forces
of the two sides close together, preventing the Americans from making use of their airpower.

At the time of writing, the Resistance was in a strong position thanks to its decision to adopt the strategy of street fighting that allowed for attracting
the enemy into those streets and then hunting down their advance guards.

The correspondent also wrote that media reports about a major American breakthrough in al-Fallujah and that the Americans control 90 percent of the city
are false. The US penetration into the city has been the result of Resistance efforts to draw the enemy in. The effect has been that heavy losses have
been inflicted on the Americans.

As to claims by some Arab media that US forces are now stationed inside the city, the correspondent noted that the only American contingent is located inside
the city has been encircled by Resistance forces since before yesterday. It able to remain there without being destroyed by virtue of the covering fire
provided by American snipers posted on buildings in the area. The American unit has until the time of writing been unable to extract itself from its besieged
position.

US forces were at the time of writing trying to break the encirclement of an American column on al-Hadrah al-Muhammadiyah street in the neighborhoods of
ash-Shurtah and ad-Dubbat. But the American column is well encircled on all sides. On Thursday, the Resistance encircled and destroyed a whole American
column in the al-Jaghifi neighborhood.

The correspondent wrote that the only fighting in al-Fallujah at the time of writing was going on in two places: al-Hadrah al-Muhammadiyah and the north
of the al-Jawlan neighborhood on as-Sirdar Street.

Ar-Ramadi.

US attempts to put down Resistance in ar-Ramadi.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported on Friday that US aggressor troops had sealed the eastern and western entrances to ar-Ramadi where the Resistance has largely
been in control for several days. Al-Jazeera reported that the sound of explosions could be heard within the city and plumes of smoke could be seen rising
into the sky over the city from several neighborhoods where electricity and telephone service have been cut off. US forces are reported attempting to battle
Resistance forces in the city.

Mosul.

Resistance maintains control of Mosul.

The American Associated Press (AP) and other Western news media admitted on Friday that the Iraqi Resistance was in charge of Mosul - the third largest
city in the country - after puppet police had been driven from the streets, and US forces had been driven off at dawn from the five strategic bridges that
link the two sides of the city together.

American forces were reportedly being rushed to the city in a frantic effort by the aggressors to regain control. Al-Jazeera reported American aircraft
running air strikes on the rebellious city Friday evening, although they noted that the Americans were denying that the Resistance had seized control there.

The puppet regime installed by the Americans in Baghdad dismissed the puppet police chief in Mosul after reports that the puppet police in the city were
surrendering their posts to the Resistance without firing a shot.

US propaganda mouthpieces claimed that one American soldier had been killed in Mosul.

The American Associated Press (AP) reported that the Resistance in Mosul attacked the local headquarters of the collaborationist Kurdish chauvinist so-called
"Patriotic Union of Kurdistan" party where a battle raged for an hour.

The Resistance also reportedly assassinated the puppet chief of the Mosul "anti-crime" task force Brigadier General Muwaffaq Muhammad Dahham and set his
house ablaze.

In a telephone interview with al-Jazeera satellite TV, Sayf ad-Din al-Baghdadi, an official in the Resistance political bureau called for battle against
US forces around the country. "I call on the scores or hundreds of the brothers from the mujahideen . . . to press the American forces outside" al-Fallujah,
the AP quoted him as saying.

"We chose the path of armed jihad and say clearly that ridding Iraq of the occupation will not be done by ballots. Iyyad 'Allawi's government. . . represents
the fundamentalist right-wing of the White House and not the Iraqi people," he asserted.

Baghdad.

The Resistance fire destroyed two Nissan pickup trucks and a small truck belonging to the puppet "national guardsmen." Thirteen of the Iraqi puppet troops

NATO to expand involvement with US-installed puppet regime in Iraq.

NATO plans an expanded role in Iraq as the agent for America's drive to reduce its own casualties by strong-arming its satellites into providing political
and military cover for its aggression in Iraq.

A NATO official acknowledged on Friday that all 26 members of the US satellite NATO alliance had agreed on a plan aimed at expanding NATO's role in training
the US-installed puppet army in occupied Iraq.

The new plan, which still must be ratified by NATO's regimes next week, provides for the deployment of 150 "trainers" as well as hundreds of guards and
other support personnel to guarantee the implementation of the plan.

NATO already sent 66 trainers to Iraq earlier this year. NATO has been asked by the Iraqi government to train its puppet security forces and Jaap de Hoop
Scheffer, the Secretary General of NATO said that 10 of the alliance's 19 member states were contributing to that training, both within Iraq and outside
Iraq in places like Jordan and in military schools in Europe. De Hoop Scheffer said that NATO would have a training academy for Iraqi puppet forces running
by the end of the year.

Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, who apparently views Iraq as one of the theaters of the American so-called "war on terror," said that Europe had not "caught up"
with the US in its response to what he called "global terrorism." Internally, he said, European countries need to follow the American lead in "merging
external and internal security," which is to say freeing domestic repression and spy agencies from legal limitations customarily guaranteed under democratic
legislation.

Making clear that NATO's role is to serve US imperial interests de Hoop Scheffer told the Council on Foreign Relations in New York that "Europe should catch
up here, not the United States."

Al-Fallujah.

Fierce fighting in al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 12:45am local time Sunday (11:45pm Saturday night Mecca time), the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that fierce fighting
broke out between the Resistance and US occupation troops on ath-Tharthar Street near the al-Wahdah neighborhood and also on ath-Tharthar Street in the
al-Jawlan neighborhood area after Resistance forces provoked the US troops on the outskirts. The Resistance first attacked them and then clashed with them,
then drew them towards the center of the city where they could engage them in guerrilla street fighting for the fifth straight day.

Resistance forces encircled a US column in the al-Wahdah neighborhood, cutting them off from the al-Muhandisin neighborhood and the al-Hadrah Mosque to
the north and from ar-Ramadi Street to the south. Other US troops tried to reach them more than once from the north but were unable to get through.

Resistance unleashes barrage of 45 Grad rockets on US forces outside al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 12:45am Sunday morning local time, 11:45pm Saturday night Mecca time the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported
that about one hour before the report was submitted, Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of 45 high explosive Grad rockets at US forces to the south
and west of al-Fallujah. The resultant explosions were visible from a great distance.

The Resistance fired the rockets from mobile launchers to prevent American forces from striking back with heat seeking missiles.

At the time of writing the Resistance was firing mortars and Katyusha rockets at US troop concentrations from the ash-Shuhada' and al-Jubayl neighborhoods,
trying to catch the Americans in a crossfire. Meanwhile US aircraft were bombing the city in an attempt to reduce the pressure on American forces.

Meanwhile, fighting was still underway in the al-Jawlan neighborhood, but the intensity of combat had diminished in the al-Wahdah neighborhood in central
al-Fallujah where a US column remains encircled.

Resistance wipes out US column cut off on al-Hadrah Street in al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 12:30am Sunday morning local time, 11:30pm Saturday night Mecca time the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported
that the Resistance in al-Fallujah had completely wiped out the US column that had been encircled on al-Hadrah Street near the al-Hadrah Mosque in the
city for three days.

US forces had tried to break through to the isolated US column on several occasions but all in vain. They even attempted peaceful means, proposing through
loudspeakers a cease fire to the Resistance fighters earlier on Saturday. The Resistance, however, rejected the American appeal and continued encircling
and striking the isolated US column until it was totally wiped out.

Resistance in al-Karmah and in al-Fallujah pound US troops from two sides.

Iraqi Resistance forces put US troops east of al-Fallujah in a pincer Saturday between the missiles of the Resistance in al-Karmah (north of al-Fallujah)
and the missiles of the al-Fallujah Resistance.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Karmah wrote that the Resistance hit the US forces with 15 Grad rockets, compelling the Americans to scatter unorganized
in the direction of the al-'Askari neighborhood to the east of al-Fallujah. But there they were met by al-Fallujah Resistance fire which prevented them
getting into the neighborhood.

Thereafter fighting broke out that lasted for about an hour and a half, at the end of which US forces retreated to lines behind where they had been in the
first place behind the highway outside al-Fallujah.

US loosens its grip on al-Fallujah after making cease-fire appeal to the Resistance.

Many al-Fallujah families on Saturday were able to leave the city by the al-Azraqiyah crossing, which the US troops had opened up in an apparent attempt
to show "good will" towards the residents of the city after the US appealed for a cease fire and negotiations.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that those leaving the city showed clear signs of the effects of days without food, water, or electricity,
under savage US bombing. Their clothes were frequently tattered after they had been pulled from the ruins of their homes. Children wailed loudly from thirst
and hunger.

Resistance pounds US forces in al-Fallujah cemetery.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired an intensive barrage of Grad rockets into the cemetery north of al-Fallujah where US aggressor forces are encamped on Saturday.
Rumors were also circulating of something "important" happening after three days of the siege of the city if US forces had not withdrawn.

Puppet soldier tries to rape girl from al-Fallujah, saying 'Allawi said they could do so.

In a dispatch posted at 11:45pm Saturday local time (10:45pm Mecca time) the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the al-Fallujah area reported that a puppet
soldier in the so called "Iraqi national guard" recruited and run by the Americans tried to rape an Iraqi girl from al-Fallujah after she crossed the al-Azraqiyah
crossing heading for as-Saqlawiyah. An American soldier stopped the outrage and, through a Lebanese interpreter, asked the Iraqi puppet soldier, "How can
you do that?" The puppet soldier answered, according to the account of the girl who was the victim of the attempt, "Iyyad 'Allawi said the women of al-Fallujah
and all their money are free for us to take."

Various news reports indicate that the puppet troops involved with the Americans in their offensive on al-Fallujah are drawn from the ranks of Shi'i chauvinist
bands under the leadership of clerics who support the American occupation. Troops from such backgrounds are inspired by sectarian bigotry.

By contrast, Shi'i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr issued a religious legal ruling fatwa saying that it was forbidden for any Shi'i to take part in fighting
against al-Fallujah.

US pleas for cease-fire, negotiations with Resistance in al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted Saturday at 7:14pm local time, 6:14pm Mecca time, the al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in a repeat of the
scenario played out in April this year, the US forces have called for a cease fire in al-Fallujah. American troops made their call using loudspeakers,
requesting in addition, that talks be opened with the Iraqi Resistance. In a face-saving gesture, the US-installed puppet government of Iyyad 'Allawi announced
that it was now seeking a "peaceful solution" in al-Fallujah to "save lives," having already approved the massive cluster bombing of the city.

The heavy casualties inflicted on the US forces are the main reason for the American appeal - casualties largely unreported in the US media. The American
column that has been surrounded by the Resistance and cut off inside the city for three days also no doubt played a role in pushing the US to this conclusion,
after American war vehicles failed to break the encirclement around the beleaguered Americans.

An idea of the scale of US losses can be gleaned from the fact that the burned out wrecks of 40 US tanks can be seen on al-Jumhuriyah Street alone, after
a major turning point was reached in the fighting on Friday. On Friday Iraqi Resistance forces destroyed 25 American tanks. US troops had been parking
tanks in a former ice factory but it was mined and blown up by the Resistance - prompting some media to report that some kind of huge bomb had been dropped.

Days after the start of the first assault on al-Fallujah last April Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops had made an appeal for a cease-fire and negotiations.
That report was initially discounted around the world as "preposterous" but later proved to be correct. The same scenario is apparently now repeating itself.

Resistance turns back three US attempts Thursday night and through the day Friday to rescue trapped American column on al-Hadrah Street.

Thursday-Friday night and during the day Friday, Iraqi Resistance fighters in al-Fallujah destroyed 22 American tanks. Five wrecked tanks can be seen on
ath-Tharthar Street, nine on al-Hadrah Street, the rest being scattered around the al-Jawlan neighborhood of al-Fallujah.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Fallujah reported that US forces attempted to distract Resistance fighters from the northern side of the city
so that they could send a column of tanks into al-Hadrah Street where an American column was cut off and under attack. But the Resistance was aware of
the US intentions and lay in wait for the attacking tank column, falling back to allow it to get into a trap, but not to break the encirclement of the
beleaguered column.

US forces again tried to enter ath-Tharthar Street also in order to relieve the encircled column on al-Hadrah Street, but this second attempt to rescue
the column also failed.

In a third attempt to relieve the encircled column on al-Hadrah street, US forces attempted to advance from the south, but this attempt also failed.

In news on Saturday the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that a massive explosion took place in the ash-Shuhada' neighborhood. Thick smoke could
be seen rising from the area at a distance of 10km. No further details were initially available about the blast, according to the correspondent in a dispatch
posted at 8:05pm local time; 7:05pm Mecca time Saturday night.

US admits four helicopters downed.

US propaganda mouthpieces on Saturday morning admitted that the Iraqi Resistance had shot down four American helicopters in the al-Fallujah area, but claimed
that all the crewmembers survived, though some were wounded.

The American Associated Press (AP) reported that the US military claimed that two Kiowa OH-58 helicopters were shot down by the Resistance northeast of
al-Fallujah. It said that one Black Hawk UH-60 was shot down near at-Taji on Friday, wounding three crewmembers. The American propaganda statement gave
no details about the fourth helicopter downed, though US spokesman mentioned bringing helicopter wreckage back to a military airbase.

Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent hit by four bullets in al-Fallujah.

The al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Fallujah was stuck by four bullets Friday night after the al-'Isha' nighttime prayers as he was
covering the battle in the al-Jawlan neighborhood.

The correspondent was hit by four bullets, three of them penetrating his body. Two struck him in the shoulder and one in the waist. The fourth bullet lodged
in his thigh. His condition is bad, but stable.

The correspondent has been unable to find proper medical care due to the shortage of doctors in the city, after US forces attacked all the hospitals there.

Mafkarat al-Islam has been covering al-Fallujah using two correspondents inside the city and one in the area outside.

There were also unconfirmed reports that a correspondent for al-Jazeera satellite TV named Husayn had also been wounded in al-Fallujah but no details were
initially available.

buildings. The Resistance has also seized full control of one of the American headquarters in the al-'Arabi section of Mosul, after the US occupation troops
fled under a fierce Resistance attack. The battles lasted for several hours and were so intense that American armored vehicles could not take to the streets.
Three US helicopters were shot down during the fighting.

Sources denied to Mafkarat al-Islam claims that had appeared in some satellite media that 10 Resistance fighters had been killed and five taken prisoner.
One fighter had been martyred, the sources said and another wounded and his body was taken from the battlefield.

Al-Fallujah.

The office of Mafkarat al-Islam received a communiqué late on Sunday night from the Consultative Council of the Mujahideen of al-Fallujah concerning the
nature of the powerful explosion that rocked part of the city around sunset Sunday.

The communiqué disclosed that the blast was the result of an Ababil rocket fired by the Resistance at the Hajji Dahham Ice Factory in the industrial zone
of the city. The explosion destroyed a number of American tanks and armored vehicles, the communiqué said.

The communiqué also refuted claims that some sort of negotiations had begun with the occupation forces. It also discounted claims that a cease-fire with
the occupation troops was a possibility. No such thing could take place so long as the US operations around the environs of the city were continuing.

The communiqué also stated that there was no truth in the statements made by some people speaking on behalf of the city's residents concerning the situation
in the city. The communiqué stressed that there were no American tanks in any of al-Fallujah's streets other than a small number that are encircled on
some streets. The US presence on the main streets in the city consists only of American snipers in specific locations on ath-Tharthar Street.

The communiqué stated that the morale of the Iraqi Resistance fighters in al-Fallujah is at its highest possible level. "The American strike," the communiqué
said, "has only increased us in firmness, defiance, and resilience in the path of Truth."

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Fallujah reported that on Sunday the city experienced relative calm, as fighting between the invaders and the
Resistance were on a very limited scale.

Resistance pounds US troops outside al-Fallujah with 53 rockets as the residential areas of the city return to normal.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired more than 50 Grad rockets at US forces deployed around al-Fallujah on Sunday. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported
that rockets were fired from al-Karmah to the east of al-Fallujah; from as-Saqlawiyah to the north of al-Fallujah; from 'Amiriyat al-Fallujah to the south.
In all 53 rockets - Grads and powerful Tariqs - crashed into the US troop concentrations, according to eye witness accounts.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent inside al-Fallujah reported on Sunday that the city residents had begun freely moving about the streets and neighborhoods
of the city. They must run, however, whenever they get near any of the main streets of the city where US snipers are still deployed on some buildings.
A peaceful situation reigns away from those main streets, however.

Resistance issues communiqué on US losses in al-Fallujah. Discrepancies with Abu Sa'd interview noted.

In a dispatch posted at 7:03pm Mecca time, the office of Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Fallujah reported that it had received a short while before a communiqué
issued by the Consultative Council of the Mujahideen of al-Fallujah which discussed the number of American, British, and puppet 'Allawi Army dead, wounded,
and captured.

The communiqué stated that in the operations of the last few days, the Iraqi Resistance had shot down two F-16 fighter bombers, 11 helicopters, 5 unmanned
spy planes, and one Chinook helicopter with some 60 US troops aboard.

The communiqué said that 136 US troops, 15 British soldiers, and 123 members of the 'Allawi Army (i.e., puppet so-called "Iraqi national guardsmen") had
been captured by the Resistance. About 400 American troops and 140 'Allawi troops have been killed, the statement reported.

The communiqué confirmed that the Iraqi Resistance had commandeered seven tanks and had destroyed a large number of other tanks, armored personnel carriers
and other armored vehicles.

Mafkarat al-Islam noted that the figures cited in the communiqué differed from those cited in a telephone conversation to al-Jazeera satellite TV by the
Abu Sa'd ad-Daylami, the official spokesman of the Consultative Council of the Mujahideen of al-Fallujah on Saturday (see this report, below) in which
he also mentioned that US forces had taken the major streets in al-Fallujah. Informed sources explained the discrepancies by observing that it was obviously
much easier for the different Resistance organizations to coordinate their fighting activity than it was for them to coordinate their information gathering
techniques and reporting.

The sources did express surprise at the relatively low numbers attributed by al-Jazeera to ad-Daylami, considering that there were reports from many sources
that confirmed that 30 tanks and 12 other vehicles had been destroyed by the Resistance and that the Resistance had blown up the ice factory where the
Americans had parked a large number of their military vehicles and where dozens of US troops were killed or wounded.

The Resistance sources repeated that the main streets of al-Fallujah - like ar-Ramadi Street, ath-Tharthar Street, al-Hadrah Street, and al-Jumhuriyah Street
had been cleared of US troops, but that fighting was still underway on al-Wahdah Street and in the al-Jawlan neighborhood.

Spokesman for al-Fallujah Resistance denies US claims.

Abu Sa'd ad-Dulaymi, the official spokesman of the Consultative Council of the Mujahideen of al-Fallujah, announced that the military situation of American
forces in al-Fallujah had not changed for three days. He made the remarks in reply to US claims to have completely seized control over al-Fallujah.

Speaking by telephone to al-Jazeera satellite TV Abu Sa'd said that the occupation troops have not been able until now to get near the al-Jawlan neighborhood;
all they control are the main streets in al-Fallujah, backing up their presence with fierce air strikes.

Abu Sa'd ad-Dulaymi said that when the Americans refer to "pockets of resistance" they mean the whole neighborhoods of al-'Askari, ash-Shuhada', al-Jaghifi,
al-Wahdah, al-Jumhuriyah and the industrial zone - if they mean all these areas when they talk about "pockets of resistance," then I tell you these "pockets"
are al-Fallujah; these neighborhoods don't exist outside of al-Fallujah.

The US forces are in a big public relations bind, Abu Sa'd said, since they've declared an end to military operations at a time when US forces are facing
the Resistance on the inside and are surrounded on the outside of the city, being hit by rockets and mortars. In fact the proof that they are in a bind
is the very fact that they have announced the end of the military operation.

Abu Sa'd denied claims that 1,000 Resistance fighters had been killed. He confirmed that 100 Resistance fighters had been killed. The remainder of the casualties
are civilians He also said that the Chairman of the Consultative Council of the Mujahideen of al-Fallujah, 'Abdallah al-Janabi, still leads the Resistance
from within the city.

Iraqi Red Crescent relief convoy makes it into al-Fallujah on Sunday.

The Iraqi Red Crescent Society was able on Sunday to get a convoy of food and medical aid into the city of al-Fallujah. Firdaws al-'Ibadi, a spokeswoman
for the Iraqi Red Crescent, said that the convoy entered al-Fallujah from the north led by ambulances emblazoned with the Iraqi Red Crescent sign.

The convoy consisted of four trucks loaded with food and three ambulances in which were medical teams.

Al-'Arabiyah.net reported that the trucks were loaded with foodstuffs such as bread, rice, and water as well as medical supplies.

Although this one convoy was able to get into al-Fallujah, the Red Crescent spokeswoman al-'Ibadi warned that it was far too little to fill the urgent needs
of the people inside the city and in its environs.

Informed sources in the Red Crescent report that at least 150 families are still in the heart of al-Fallujah. Furthermore there are fears concerning the
conditions in which tens of thousands of refugees from the city are currently living in camps
