Re: Bostonians Rally on the International Day of Solidarity with Palestine

To throw light on this discussion, there is no Palestine, but there are Palestinians. The reason for this is as follows: Since the time of Herodotus, there has been a breed of Syrians called Palestinian. It is simply the case that Syria which stretched from Modern Day Syria to Gaza has a subpopulation of Syrians who wandered around the general area which was vaguely demarcated lower Syria.

Therefore Palestinians are like Pashtuns or other races of arabian people who had national boundaries drawn across them arbitrarily to suit Imperial England's use of resources. Jews, who signed Israel over to themselves by posing as Englishmen (eg Disraeli) inherited the British drawn lines in the sand shortly before they formed terrorist groups (Irgun) to eradicate the English presence.

This is how it came to pass that not every nation has a territorial nation state assigned to it, at least in the case of Palestinians.
