International Car Free Day in Boston was an unprecedented success. Between 200 and 300 bicyclists converged from Bikes Not Bombs in Roxbury and Broadway Bicycle School in Cambridge at the crossing of Boylston Street with the bike path in Brookline. Crossing over the median again and again, bicyclists took back the highway from the polluting, inefficient, noisy, and community-destroying effects of car traffic. See link for photos. |
