Greater Boston Labor Council To Host Press Conference
In Support of Boston School Bus Drivers
Thursday, December 9, 2004 - 10:00 AM - Boston City Hall

On Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at a meeting of the affiliates of the
Greater Boston Labor Council, the council resolved to fight with all
means at its disposal the recent attacks on the Boston School Bus
Drivers Union and its new labor agreement. The resolution (see
enclosed ) concluded:

"The Greater Boston Labor Council opposes this anti-Union attempt by
City elected officials to tear up the Boston School Bus Drivers new
contract with First Student, Inc., and will utilize every resource at
our disposal to defend the sanctity of the Steelworkers private
collective bargaining agreement and stop the unilateral imposition
after the fact of anti-labor concessions on these fine Union sisters
and brothers who have served well the parents and children of Boston
and the cause of equal, quality, desegregated education for over 30
years."

Leaders of the Greater Boston Labor Council will be at Boston City
Hall to demand that the City administration immediately cease and
desist in its attempts to aid the private bus management firm, First
Student, Inc., in breaking the School Bus Drivers' contract.
