The Papercut Zine Library collective needs you!!!
09 Feb 2005
Boston Area Zine library looking for volunteers and zine contributions!
Hey guys,

So we've been working on this zine library project since September and things are kicking into gear!!! We have a great space that we'll be moving into soon, 1000+ zines of all different kinds and lots of community support.

But we need volunteers!!! We're looking for a few good people who love zines to get on board and help us out with whatever they can: promotion, getting zines, website, volunteering for shifts, organizing, raising funds, etc.

WHO ARE WE? We're the Papercut Collective and we've been working on this project for months now ever since noticing that Boston is lacking a comprehensive zine library. We are a consensus based group of radical and anarcho-friendly people looking to build a good sized and completely functioning lending zine library.

Other things we're looking to do is provide a comfortable space for zinesters to hang out, converse, make zines, etc. We'll be hosting zine skillshares and lectures and have a space available with some materials and supplies for people to work on their zines or try out new ideas. We also hope to include other things like a small mix tape/CD library, a free box and a local or independent/DIY artist DVD/VHS collection.

Currently we're hosting an extensive selection of personal and political zines ranging from topics of anarchism to organic gardening and DIY comics. Our goal is to provide for the community a resource of independent/DIY material that is hard to find in the major libraries. We will be welcoming everyone to come check out the zines whether they're researching on a particular topic for a paper or just looking for some leisure reading.

We are always taking contributions of zines, mostly of the non-music kind (but we'll take music if you've got 'em!) There is a drop off box for zine contributions in the Lucy Parsons Center at 549 Columbus Ave in the South End.

If you're interested in helping us out or even just dropping in to see what we're doing, we meet once a week on Monday nights at 7PM. We meet outside the MassArt Cafeteria and head to a better place from there. This will soon change once we get moved into our space, but for now this is where we meet up. The Massart cafeteria is located directly on the corner of Longwood Ave. and Huntington Ave. in Boston. We meet at the entrance to the Kennedy building. I usually have box labelled "zine library" with me, so look for that!!!
