Arrest at the Harvard Square MBTA station
20 Mar 2005
Coming home from the Anti war rally and march I Hans and my French lady friend with the bomb Texas sign were arrested for allegedly putting a sticker that said "fuck the war" on a MBTA train. My lady friend and I were brutalized by the MBTA police and two undercover cops. We were charged with vandalism, assault and battery with a deadly weapon(camera),resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Unfortunately I have a lot of photos from the march and rally. My camera is being held as evidence. We are going to Cambridge court on Monday morning.

They can't charge you with vanalism. Any decoration that can be removed, or washed away (such as stickers or chalk) Isn't illegal.

Thank you for answering and your solidarity. It is our first arrest ever. My French friend and I can attest to the incredible brutality of the so called MBTA police. My friend who is very thin and older had her two wrists almost broken by the cuffs, and was accused of assaulting an MBTA Cop who was 5ft5' and 300lbs and sending him to the hospital with broken a broken bone. She was stripped and bodily searched by a women who refused to give her water until she "cooperated".
Whereas I was just patted down and never really searched.
Arraignment is this morning at 9:00 am. at the Cambridge District Court. I hope I can retrive my camera and pictures soon??

Hans,
I am terribly sorry, as well as sickened and horrified, at what happened to you both. People at Boston Anarchist Black Cross, myself included, want to assist and support you however we can. Please email me (trenchesfullofpoets (at) riseup.net) with some way to get in touch, or at least with future court dates. I hope you are both well, considering yesterday's absurdities and brutalities, and i'm sorry I read of what happened too late to be at your arraignment
in Solidarity,
-Jake

To re-iterate what Jake said, Hans, you need to contact ABC and NLG right now!

Call the NLG office at 617.227.7335 right now!

Send details of court dates ASAP to abc-boston (at) hush.com and nlgmass (at) igc.com .

Grr. Sorry, Hans. The NLG's email is

nlgmass (at) igc.org .

For some weird reason, I always want to make igc a .com instead of a .org. Sorry about that.

Somewhat related, me and a friend jumped on a subway when it seemed like the march was winding down. There was a very susipicious person taking photos of us with a cell phone camera. We were both wearing black, but otherwise non-descript. Definitely not punked out or interesting looking enough for tourists to want to snap any pictures.

The undercovers were definitely out in full force yesterday, and not just along the parade route. They were definitely making an effort to follow people well outside of the downtown area, so it is not surprising that you got popped for allegedly posting up stickers all the way out in Cambridge.

Good luck beating the charges. The NLG should be able to help you out. Solidarity.
