The Few - The Brave...New Hampshire Activists perform street theatre at NH statehouse in Concord and at Democratic Party HQ on s26 and s28 |
In a light drizzle and slow NH "rush hour" the spontaneously initiated NH Global Action group performed their piece entitled "The SAP machine".
The performance involves the IMF, a benevolent third world dictator, and the *Amazing* S A P machine!
The piece touches on issues of Structural Adjustment Programs and their effects on agriculture, the environment, and sweatshop labor in Export Processing Zones (EPZs). It also features some comical mutant corn which magically morphs into Tostito nacho chips!
NH Global Action was joined by members of NH Peace Action at the Democratic Party HQ. NHPA was there to hold a vigil for the millions of Iraqi people suffering because of US imposed sanctions, which the Democratic presidential candidate, AL Gore, has refused to condemn. The small but dedicated group of activists spoke to passers-by, distributed literature, and were accentuated by the backdrop of a huge double RAINBOW!
NH Global Action will again perform their show at the statehouse on N. Main Street in Concord this evening accompanied by literature informing people about the mass arrests and police brutality against demonstrators at the anti- IMF/World Bank meetings in Prague.
NH Global Action will take its show on the road to Boston for the demonstrations at the first presidential debates on October third. |
