BPPA Paper Viciously Maligns Councilor Turner & Boston's Anti-War Movement.
04 May 2005
Modified: 06:48:28 PM
Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association’s Paper “Pax Centurion” has an article in the March/April Addition with the headline...

"City Councilor Chuck Turner leads illegal parade; causes near-riot (Mischievous Midget leads Misguided Mopes on Malignant March)”

The article goes on to demean the anti-war movement, Boston “hand-wringing, starry-eyed, brain-dead liberal” Hippies, Whale-Lovers, etc. The article has really got to be read to be believed and is posted below so you may draw your own conclusions.

Perhaps it is this type of inflammatory rhetoric that make it difficult or impossible for some Boston’s Patrolmen to see Protesters and concerned Citizens expression their democratic right to free speech.

The following is the article in question in its entirety from the March/April 2005 addition of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association paper "PAX Centurion". (Below the article is a partial list of advertisers and the BPPA contact info).

"City Councilor Chuck Turner leads illegal parade; causes near-riot (Mischievous Midget leads Misguided Mopes on Malignant March)”
By Jim Carnell, Editor, Pax Centurion

On March 20, as many Bostonians enjoyed the St. Patrick's Day parade in South Boston, BPD officers from Area A, MOP and other specialized units were forced to police a disgraceful, illegal" Anti-War" march through downtown Boston led by the equally disgraceful and embarrassing City Councilor Chuck Turner.

Councilor Turner, who distinguished himself last year by presenting run-of-the-mill website pornography as a supposed example of alleged abuses by US soldiers at Abu Graihb prison in Baghdad, led a mob of some 300 anarchists, n' eer-do-wells and assorted idiots on a thoroughly illegal, unpermitted march the wrong-way down one way streets, disrupting traffic and causing alarm and inconvenience for thousands of law-abiding citizens.

Many BPD officers were ordered, as a result of severe short-staffing, to perform overtime duty at this "Anti-War Rally" on the Boston Common, organized by a wide variety of left-wing groups naming themselves by a variety of acronyms: i.e.: the FMM (Free Mumia Movement) whose goal is to gain freedom for Mumia Abu-Jamal, convicted murderer of Philadelphia Patrolman Daniel Faulkner), the MAALACS (Morons Assembled Against Logic And Common Sense) and the IHMRLDAMS (I Hate My Rich Liberal Daddy And Mommy Society). The common denominator amongst these assembled nitwits was, beyond any doubt, a mutually shared hatred for the United States of America, President George W. Bush, and the US military.

The rally, witnessed by myself and many fellow officers, began benignly as yet another run-of-the-mill assemblage of pathetic, Cambridge/ Brookline / privileged suburban liberal-types ridden with guilt who hate America. The crowd displayed in tone, demeanor and dress, their basic philosophy that America was always wrong and must be blamed for all of the planet's ills. The crowd could be divided into three clearly identifiable subgroups:
1.) the typical, hand-wringing, starry-eyed, brain-dead liberal from either A.) Cambridge, B.) Brookline C.) Jamaica Plain or D.) anyone of a variety of privileged, wealthy suburbs whose residents are filled with guilt as a result of the fact that their wealth comes not from their own labor but from trust-funds left to them by their equally stupid liberal parental units...
2.) graying, aging hippies reliving their protest years and pretending that they are challenging authority when actually they are the fault of the very problems they purport to be opposed to, and
3.) the spoiled-rotten offspring of the above-described- detestable aging hippies and guilt-ridden yuppie nitwits, who have never worked for anything but have had liberal Momand-Pop pay for private school/ college and now desire to present themselves as some sort of revolutionaries-seeking-victimhood status...

As the afternoon wore on, elements of the crowd comprised mainly of the revolutionary-chic / "Che-Guevara" anarchist types began marching around in a circle, imagining themselves to be the victims of some nefarious, insidious type of state-sponsored surveillance, It was plainly obvious that all of them had a primal need to don the proverbial mantle of victimhood by which they could then portray themselves as being worthy of attention / sympathy / tears etc. etc

The majority of these self-,de-scribed anarchists consisted of the 15-25 yr. old disaffected-but-wealthy, private-school and college attending offspring of the above described aging hippies. They carried a variety of hand-painted signs opposing or supporting various causes which they collectively knew nothing about, such as the supposed terror of the World Bank, seal-killing in Canada, whale-killing in Norway, nuclear proliferation in North Korea, etc. etc., all of which could (natch) be blamed on (you guessed it...) the US of A.

Up on the Boston Common bandstand, where the permit for the protest rally was supposedly limited to, a number of alleged "musical" groups appeared. There was a heavy-metal group, consisting of tattooed white-trash from Appalachia banging on drums and screaming unintelligible invectives about how poorly they had been treated by the oppressive United States government (advice for fans of said morons: take a trip to Pyongyang or Damascus, see how long you last, then send us a postcard...). There was also a form of music which can best be described as four-letter-filth accompanied by percussion. Similar,' if not superior music has been produced by day care centers reading Dr. Suess books whilst tapping wooden blocks and other clanging instruments, but what do I know...

And then there was the usual cadre of aging idiots like alleged "Professor" Howard Zinn from Boston University, an icon of stupidity and an absolute waste of oxygen from the Vietnam era. (Howie- your friends in Ho Chi Minh City are just dying for you to move there so you can spout some drivel to the communist murderers you so admire call Jane Fonda and please leave soon...the BPPA will pay the one way airfare...). It was also rather ironic to observe that while many of the speakers professed to be in favor of "peace", they continually screamed about "smashing capitalism" and "fighting class war". I noticed that one of the "anti-capitalists" carrying a peace flag held a sign indicating that she had for sale "United Nations peace flags" at a cost of "$15.00." So much for smashing capitalism... . And then, of course, there were the screeching "revolutionary poet" types, screaming about how the evil capitalistic genocidal US Government had ruined their lives and killed Native Americans and dropped atomic bombs and fostered war and evil and bad things and ' snakes and bats and creepy crawly ~stuff and then went back and killed' peace-loving whales and Hindus' and Canadian seals and how the worst people on Earth were white European males followed by males of any kind who had bad things that they used to oppress women and keep them down and prevent them from becoming Catholic priests and other stuff and oppressed everybody and everything and drilled for oil in bad places like Arctic wastelands to fill up the buses which were used to transport protesting idiots from New York to Boston and back again and ,then returned to kill lions and tigers and bears (Oh, My!) and spread smallpox to cannibals on Caribbean islands because Columbus was a murdering white-European male-pig...

But of course, I again, digress…
Because somewhere in the middle of the disaffected-revolutionary-poet-who-has been-discriminated-against because of (select one: race, gender, sexual or p0litical proclivity, etc...fill in the blank according to political correctness...( ) rant-and-rave, I figured out that this alleged rally against the Iraq war was nothing more than another anti-establishment, 1960s era revival-and-shakedown show designed to garner media attention and produce the requisite amount of political jobs/ promises/ etc. which weak-kneed and spineless phonies often succumb to in the face of racial politics played by frauds like Chuck Turner, but which so many are so afraid to : confront for fear of being labeled as . a "Racist", which is a term that fraudulent-Chuck and others like him use to intimidate people and force them to back down instead of calling City Councilor Turner exactly what he is, which is a fraud and a fake and a phony, but again, I digress.. .

As the rally on the Common neared its end, even the sponsors had to admit that they had bored the crowd with far too many "featured speakers", virtually everyone of whom repeated the same, boring liberal mantra of " ... we hate Bush.. .America is the terrorist pig and that's why the Arabs hate us...America is to blame for all of the world's problems..." blah, blah, blah ad nauseum... Apparently not content with simply pissing off those who were unfortunate enough to live within earshot of the Boston Common and had to endure invective-laden diatribes on what should have been a quiet Sunday afternoon, Councilor Turner, without a permit and in direct violation of the law and not giving a damn about anyone else's right to enjoy the public streets of the City of Boston, began to march against the traffic, down one-way streets into oncoming traffic at 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon, causing alarm, inconvenience and annoyance (at a minimum!) for everyone who had committed no crime other than to drive into the City of Boston to enjoy a day with their family.

And to the absolute disgrace of the Boston Police Department, the command staff of the BPD dutifully followed behind Councilor Turner as he led his parade of anarchists up and down the streets of Boston without a permit. Councilor Turner then led the BPD command staff by the nose, the wrong way past Police District One on Sudbury St. At one point, somebody came over the police radio and announced that the illegal march would then be "taking a right onto Cambridge St. and heading towards Cambridge", but the marchers laughed as they reached the intersection of Cambridge and Sudbury St. and continued in the exact opposite direction. Later on, only after the emboldened anarchists got the idea (Geez, I wonder how???) that the emasculated and spineless BPD would do nothing to stop their illegal march, when they decided that they would sit down in the middle of Tremont St. and block traffic for law-abiding citizens, a few officers from MOP, Area A and other specialized units finally put an end to this foolishness and stopped Turner and Co. by making a few arrests. While the command staff stood by in their sartorial splendor, the grunts of the BPO finally took charge of the situation and returned the streets of Boston to the law-abiding public.

Alleged City Councilor Turner should have been arrested for his flagrant, outrageous, illegal conduct which served only to delay, frustrate and anger the law-abiding general. public. But none among our command staff stepped forward to make a decision. Once again, the street level patrolmen and supervisors were left to uphold the honor of the BPO, with little if any assistance from our leadership.

I really like the whole making really harsh statements about people without backing them up. It's cute, kinda.

Sorry but I really thought that this passage needed to be viewed on its own.

Boston has an anti-war movement?
Don't You Know...???

Free speech only exsists for the left.

My God! someone spoke poorly of Councilor Turner and disagrees with the left. Obviously this material has skewed the police officers against the movement. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that those police officers are thinking people who may or may not agree with the movement. Shouldn't assumptions made about individuals based on the writing of one indivual be deemed "prejudicial"?

It is true that only the left has the right to free speech. Repeat after me:
1. Castro is Good
2. Marx was a genius
3. Stalin was Good
4. God is bad because he sets rules for us and we don't believe in him anyway so we don't have to follow any rules.

cops are fascists... we know this...
that's funny as hell!

The Left is too obsessed with feeling self righteous to actually do what might succeed in gaining more adherents.

Instead of getting angry at that article, you should take it as a wake up call. They are holding up a mirror to you guys. That's why the article is so funny.

That's precisely how the working class sees you guys.

You demand a rigid orthodoxy of guilt and masochism. Most ordinary people who have had a hard life have no use for masochism. We've felt enough pain just living. Masochism is a psychological tendency of the wealthy and privileged -- like the CEO who likes to get dressed up in a maid's costume and get spanked on all fours.

A smart progressive movement would be more like the Christians -- nicer, more welcoming, and providing a plan of action.

What plan of action? I say active anti-consumerism. For example, joining Community Supported Agriculture farms, setting up car sharing co-ops, organizing families to send their children to the Longy school of music and learn to play instruments and form musical ensembles (this will displace a consumerist lifestyle and replace it with an artistic lifestyle).

I'm not a Catholic, or a Christian, but I find the concept of "Seven Deadly Sins" interesting. Your deadly sins are wrath and envy.

The problem with the article is that it referenced an "anti-war movement" in Boston. There is no such movement. It is the same bunch of usual suspects that rise to any protest occasion. They are really just anti everything. Professional protesters if you will. They gravitate toward communist and anarchist groups. How do I know this? I know this because I have friends who infiltrate these groups. In fact I've infiltrated two such groups in the Boston area. It was a lot of fun but not too challenging. These groups are very easy targets to infiltrate. If you take nothing else away from this post though, understand this. THERE IS NO ANTI WAR MOVEMENT IN BOSTON!!
