I am an anarchist from DC seeking some help finding conference housing in the Boston area for a November 2005 event. |
Hello Boston,
I am a DC anarchist organizer seeking some mutual aid and solidarity....
For the last few years I have worked on the National Conference on
Organized Resistance (NCOR) and no doubt many of you have attended. Each
year for NCOR we set up a few places for folks to sleep, usually churches,
at little or no cost. We are able to do this because we know D.C. and
have contacts here.
Here's the problem: I am tasked with setting up housing for a conference
in Boston. The main conference is being held in some fancy hotel and paid
for by Planned Parenthood. The catch is, if we want to involve our people
(radicals, youths and those with little income) we have to house them.
So, since we want to make this normally elitist conference inclusive of
radicals, young people and those with little cash, we need to find a group
housing set-up. Any size will do because right now we are unsure of the
number of attendees. The space would be needed in November, so time is not a real problem.
I am asking you, the radical organizers of Boston to send any suggestions
you have to me. Please think for a second and pass along sympathetic
churches, community centers, collective houses, squats,
hostels...ANYTHING. None of us organizing this project are from Boston or
live in Boston so your suggestions will be cherished. Please take a
second and help us out.
Lastly, if anyone here is interested in attending a Planned Parenthood
conference, let me know and we can make it happen. This year we are
'refocusing' on 'youth involvement,' but to let you in on some inside
info, a few us us anarchists are planning a coup instead of a refocusing.
Anyway, if you want to get involved in this area, just email and we'll work
something out to get you in the conference.

Please Don't Feed the Trolls
Wikipedia defines an Internet Troll as: "An Internet troll is either a person who sends messages on the Internet hoping to entice other users into angry or fruitless responses, or a message sent by such a person." Boston IMC strives to provide both a grassroots media resource as well as a forum for people to contribute to a meaningful discussion about local issues. Please, when posting comments, be respectful of others and ignore those trying to interrupt or discourage meaningful discourse. Thank you.
