Crimethinc. Presents:
Sabatour Summer 2005

at the Lucy Parsons Center
Friday, June 3th
The adventure begins at 6pm

After months of scheming, this is the official release of our secret plan, to bring our book to parks, basements, coffeehouse and hotel lobbies. A troupe of saboteurs will travel the US distributing Recipes for Disaster and other fine works published by the elusive Crimethinc Workers' Collective, along with some previously unreleased projects. Performing skits and poetry readings, skillshares and workshops for the thousands of people disappointed by the results of the election, the condition of the natural world and the content of their daily lives. Hopefully, we will be able to provide communities with free copies of this book, to be shared in libraries, infoshops and community spaces making the information within available to everyone, regardless of their financial status.

We will be stopping in up to 30 towns all across the Untied States in a period of almost two months sharing the things we've learned and the dreams we've had regarding the future of anti-authoritarian resistance.

Meet up with Crimthinc. Covert Operatives for skillshares, workshops, discussion groups, song, dance, theater, food and ferocity. This summer our rag-tag bookmobilers will be coming to a city near you.

Three years in the making, Recipes for Disaster is the long-awaited follow-up to the CrimethInc. collective’s notorious first book, Days of War, Nights of Love. This 624-page manual complements the romance and idealism of that earlier work with practical information and instruction. Over thirty collectives collaborated in testing, composing, and editing the book’s 62 sections, which range from Affinity Groups, Coalition Building, and Mental Health to Sabotage, Squatting, and Wheatpasting. These are illustrated with extensive technical diagrams and first-hand accounts, and prefaced with a thorough discussion of the diverse roles direct action can play in social transformation. If you’re looking for a tactical handbook for revolutionary action, look no further.

+++ Volunteer

Volunteering at LPC isn't just about donating your labor. All of the Lucy Parsons Center volunteers contribute to all aspects of running the store and can take part in all decisions in how it's run. If you know anything about grant writing, web design, or any other skills you think would be useful, or if you just want to be part of this great radical project, please email Pete at petestid (at) yahoo.com

+++ Use our space for radical stuff

One of the most important aspects of the Lucy Parsons Center is providing a community meeting place for radical activities. If you want to host an event, please send an email to Rebecca at rebeccabatchelder (at) yahoo.com. Make sure to give enough notice so that we can approve the event at our bimonthly meetings.

If you have a group that needs a space to have regular meetings, just come to the bookstore and fill out a space request form. Again, make sure to allow time for approval by the collective.

+++ Donate MONEY!

We need support to help ensure the Lucy Parsons Center continues to grow and be an important resource for the community. Donations can be made in the form of cash, check or credit cards. Please call the store for more info. If you don't have a lot, don't worry, even donating the change of your purchase can make a difference.
