The Anarchist Black Cross is a prison abolitionist/prisoner support group. We
believe that prisons serve a very specific purpose under a capitalist state
that has nothing to do with crime control, rehabilitation, or public safety. We
see prisons as instruments of state terror, forced labor camps, and warehouses
for the unemployed. We see prisons as our most immediate threat, and the
state's most strategic weapon.

In Boston, the Anarchist Black Cross hosts free weekly self-defense classes. We
also engage in know-your-rights skillshares and offer advice on how to deal
with the police. Perhaps most importantly, we host regular letter writing
socials to construct bridges of communication that can pass through walls of
stone and bars of steel. The ABC is not a prison charity organization; we are a
prisoner solidarity organization. We are supplementing the struggle inside the
prison walls with a struggle outside.

The ABC also maintains the Community Warchest, a cash fund on reserve to cover
bail, court costs, and legal fees for protestors in the Boston area who are
targeted by the state because of their political involvement. The Warchest was
established a year before the DNC invasion and was there to cover the costs of
bail for all arrested during the week of the DNC occupation. The Warchest was
there to dole out $1,300 on March 20 to bail the five people arrested on Boston
Common during the protest marking the anniversary of the Iraq invasion.

Now the Community Warchest must be replenished so the ABC can continue its
commitment to Boston.

This is where you come in.

Please come and support the ABC so the ABC can continue to support you.
