good job on ther photos and coverage. I sent the following letter to the Boston Globe:
Latest pools indicate that six out of ten Americans are not in favor of the war in Iraq so it comes as no surprise that the Army’s “birthday party” on Cambridge Common was met with anti war protestors. Yet your story on the protest did not reflect on the amount and intensity of antiwar sentiment in this country. Torture, senseless deaths, a people lied to about WMD’s and an endless quagmire are what’s on people’s minds. That’s why the protestors were there. |

On what charges were they arrested?
How many arrests?
What is the current status of those arrested? |

How sad. I read the story about the protests in the Globe. This really seals it for me, I want nothing to do with the anti-war crowd anymore. Seriously, BOO-ing an 11 year old boy whose father was killed in Iraq? Protest the ARMY? The left is supposed to be the voice of the little guy. The Army, at all ranks, is filled with little guys made good through SERVICE to US. Who was REALLY getting boo-ed and jeered out there? The soldiers who everyone on the left wants to "support by bring them home" are the ones who really got dumped on. Way to stand up for the little guy, Cambridge Protesters!!! Whose the liar now? It kind of makes a man wonder just what folks who protest the war really want for the troops. I have lost all faith in liberalism. |
