Rebel movementĀ“s attacks take the life of another 21 public order agents in Iraq.
Beirut, Aug 10 (Prensa Latina) Some 21 police officers in Iraq died Wednesday in the capital Baghdad, , and elsewhere as a result of rebel activity, said sources of the Iraqi Interior Minister.
A report issued Wednesday said 11 police officers died when a car bomb exploded as a convoy passed in the north of Baghdad, and seven other officers were injured.
A suicide bomber crashed his vehicle into the police convoy early Wednesday afternoon, and the shockwave damaged nearby buildings.
Another attack against a convoy occurred in the neighbourhood of Ghazaliya, west of Baghdad, and caused the death of five of its members, security sources informed.
Rebels also struck at Keshifa, where two soldiers died from a dynamite explosive.
In the city of Baiji, two officers guardng the pipelines died in an attack against the installation, and . another police officer was killed in the city of Kirkuk.
These police and military casualties bring to 2,000 the number of public order agents who have lost their lives to rebel attacks in the last 5 months.
