‘Money for Hurricane Relief – Not for War’

BOSTON, MA - On September 17, Cindy Sheehan will join the Bring Them Home Now Tour stop in Boston, carrying a delegation of military and Gold Star families, veterans of the Iraq war and veterans of previous wars, who will share their first hand experience of the devastating effects of the Iraq war. The tour will participate in a series of events around Boston during their stop en route to Washington, D.C.

WHEN: Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 7pm
WHERE: Boston University in the Law School Auditorium 675 Commonwealth Ave
WHO: Cindy Sheehan and the delegation will join local supporters for a rally to ‘Bring Them Home Now’

Cindy Sheehan, the grieving military mother whose vigil outside President Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas focused the nation’s attention on the human cost of the Iraq war, visited Covington, Louisiana on Tuesday, Sept. 13, joining the on going national volunteer effort to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. She witnessed first hand the devastation in New Orleans as she helped deliver food and water to one of the poorest and hardest hit neighborhoods.

Immediately after Sheehan’s vigil at “Camp Casey” in Crawford ended on August 31, veterans who’d participated in the vigil drove all leftover supplies from the campsite – toilet paper, medicines, water, and food – to Covington, Louisiana, for distribution to Hurricane victims. Since September 2, they have been in Covington, operating a relief operation out of “Camp Casey III.”

“My efforts for these last weeks since we left Camp Casey, in Crawford have been about standing up against the inept policies of the Bush Administration and about helping people who are suffering because of those policies,“ Sheehan said. “The good citizens of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are certainly among this group, and I want to do whatever I can to be of assistance to them.”

The three bus tour launched from Camp Casey outside George Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, where Cindy Sheehan, other Gold Star and military families, Iraq War and other veterans held a nearly month long vigil requesting a meeting with the President.

The Bring Them Home Now Tour is sponsored by Gold Star Families for Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, and Veterans For Peace. For further information on the tour including a schedule of cities and dates, go to: http://www.bringthemhomenowtour.org.

judiasm doesn't equal zionism. shut the fuck up.
kids will be dying in their wars as long as we recognize the government as our masters and follow their instructions. there will be war as long as we value the dollar above human life. it isn't about one state or country, its about all of them.
