Integration Potential of PETROAMERICA Discussed in Venezuela
Caracas, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ali Rodriguez Araque opened the meeting of South American Energy Ministers convened to discuss the regional integration project: PETROAMERICA as a driving force for regional socio-economic unification.

The final declaration, to be signed by all 12 area countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and the hosts, will serve as the agenda for the Sep 29-20 Presidential Summit in Brasilia.

This energy meeting was planned at the 2nd South American Foreign Ministers reunion, whose priority will be outlining the agenda for the Summit in Brazil.

Energy, energy diversification, and integration potential, as well as interconnecting electric services were highlighted by the regional leadership in the Sep 2000 Declaration of South American Presidents, and the Consensus of Guayaquil, Ecuador in July 2002.
