Preparing for 2006 World Social Forum
30 Sep 2005
CARACAS 2006 - ANOTHER WORLD IS ALREADY HAPPENING.
EXPERIENCE THE WORLD SOCIAL FORUM AND THE BOLIVARIAN REVOLUTION!

September 2006

Dear Friend,

The World Social Forum VI - Americas Meeting will take place January 24-29,
2006, in Caracas, Venezuela. In previous years activists from Boston
participated in the Forum, mostly as individuals. This time, we would like
to have a delegation from Boston to participate taking the concerns and
ideas from progressives in the area. Likewise, upon their return we will
organize a report-back.

We have already formed a Boston Delegation Organizing Committee. Among its
members are Jorge Marin (MLK Bolivarian Circle), Roberto Torres and Sergio
Reyes (Latinos for Social Change), Karen Slater (July 26 Coalition), Charlie
Welch (Tecschange), Juan Leyton and Magalus Troncoso (City Life), Richard
Krushnic (City of Boston, Community Development), Kim Foltz and Suren
Moodliar (North American Alliance for Fair Employment)* and an increasing
number of community activists. Of course, as a participant in the Boston
Social Forum, you are welcome to join the delegation too.

We have decided to hold a series of 3 open forums both to inform potential
delegates and the public at large about the Social Forum and the Venezuelan
Bolivarian Revolution. For this purpose and also possibly to subsidize those
who cannot finance the total expense of traveling there, we are asking you
to help us financially. Current information about our progress is available
from our website: http://www.lfsc.org/wsf.

Please consider a contribution of $50, $100, $500 . or as much as you can to
support this important project. You can make your check payable to CAEF (the
Central America Education Fund), a 501c3 organization acting as our fiscal
sponsor. Soon we will add an electronic donations form to the site of the
Boston Social Forum.

We will be sending out another mailing to announce our Fall calendar.

On the way to building a better world everywhere, we thank you.

How about doing something productive like ending the oppression of forced abortions in China?

I don't know, what's the participation of civil society groups from China in the WSF process? I can't imagine many groups would be allowed to travel for political purposes... and the WSF process is one that facilitates self-empowerment, not patronizing charity models of social progress.

Oh wait, I get it... U MEAN CUZ THE'YRE COMMIES IN CHINA AND THE WSF IS 4 COMMIES

Communism/Socialism is one of the most evil a repressive forms of governement ever devised. Between Stalin and Chairman Mao, some 90 million people were killed, murdered or starved and/or worked to death in less than 100 years. You can also tack on such "socialist paradises" like Pol Pot's Cambodia which murdered nearly 2 million people. Least we not forget the continuing atrocities in Zimabewe, North Korea and the PRC. Let's go socialism!!
