URGENT! Boston corporation subsidiary illegally evicts Katrina victims

URGENT! Boston corporation subsidiary illegally evicts Katrina victims.
After the hurricane evacuation in New Orleans, residents of Forest Park Appartments arrived at their homes to find eviction notices. Despite Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco's executive order forbidding evictions until the 25th of this month, the management of the complex used water damage in a minority of the units as an excuse to cast out everyone living in all 200 units. The apartment is in Algiers, an area that was relatively unaffected by the flooding. Property values in Algiers are expected to dramatically increase; it is clear that the current Forest Park residents, being lower income, are getting the boot so the apartments can be rented at higher rates to richer folks. However, the residents and people helping Katrina victims are organizing to get the management to sign a legally binding statement that they will allow the people back into their appartments in ninety days at no increase in rent and that they will work to supply temporary housing.
The KEY FACT FOR US is that the corporation overseeing the management of this apartment complex is Boston's own Corcoran Jennison. We therefore are in a position to help these folks by putting the pressure on the upper management to agree to the tenant's reasonable demands.
