JUSTICE FOR JANITORS! MARCH ON HARVARD!
Friday. October 28.
Gather 4:15. Holyoke Center.
Across from Harvard Square T
At Harvard, the richest university in the world, janitors are still being paid POVERTY WAGES. Wages that add up to only half of what it costs to raise a family here. And with Harvard denying most janitors full time work, many have to work 2 or 3 jobs and hardly ever get to see their families.
A raise to $20 an hour would cost Harvard all of 0.3 percent of the interest on its $25.9 BILLION endowment. But instead of paying a living wage, Harvard wants to keep that money flowing to its millionaire managers, its takeover of Allston, and its investments in big corporations and war profiteers.
Now, Harvard janitors are FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES, together with students, fellow workers, and ordinary people from all over Cambridge and Boston. Their contract is up in less than 3 weeks, and it's time to turn up the pressure. Join us! |
